  • ICICI have turned into a shambles since their computer upgrade, 8 days to transfer in. EIGHT DAYS!!!!!.

Taking DDs twice, no explanation. Unanswered emails. No rate rise

    I'm out of there. Taxi!
  • I just emailed them to close my account, after moving the majority of the cash out earlier this week.

Next stop Birmingham Midshires where my 5.2% account is up and running. Shame it doesn't work with Egg Money Manager though.

Well I sent lots of emails asking questions and to carry out transfers and such when they had problems. The only response I got was that the web site was now working - nothing about actioning the requests or not.
I tried a test transfer in on 23rd Oct (account now empty). The balance has gone back to zero on the account and the transfer has a status of done. Fortunately it hasn't been taken out of the donor account. Sent an email asking them what has happened to it.
I did one to icesave on the same day to compare performance - that one was taken from my account on 25th oct but the comparison is a bit null and void.
  • I can't find a way to communicate with ICICI, I don't have a 'phone number and the site doesn't give you a way to communicate with them so if anyone can give me a phone number/email that would feel good for a start.

I opened an account last month and have been cagey about transferring money in and out, just doing little £10 ones so I have the grand total of £28.50 with them now. I came to have a look at what folks here had to say because half the time when I try to log in just gives me an error message as being 'unavailable'. Not much use if I want quick access to my cash. Seems to me pulling out is the answer.

  • Did anyone try using the SMS text service to transfer money while the website was down? Just a thought in case it should happen again.

I will be transferring about 4k next week to pay off a couple of int. free cards as the offer is ending.

    Cheers

What happens if you get "shut out"? I haven't looked at my account for months, and after reading all this I think I may want to close it!
  • I have had constant problems trying to transfer money IN to ICICI since 5th Octo. Like one of the previous threads I had the money taken twice from my bank account, but both times it was repaid by ICICI without any reason. My latest attempt to transfer in 40K I requested on 24th Oct. Looking today at ICICI on line it is neither registered in the "Precessed" or the "Scheduled" sections and the money remains in my bank. I have rung them and they cannot explain, I have e mailed them and all they do is blame my bank. I am getting fed up as my money is stuck in the bank waiting to be transferred out and loosing interest all the time since the beginning of October as I don't know when they are going to call it off (if at all). Maybe time to look for another account??

A debit for this amount has been made to my current account - no reference on the debit so I don't know whether it is to icici. Calling icici they say it is in clearing and the account balance should be updated this evening. They deny that my balance could have been increased then decreased.

I asked them to get someone to respond to my emails but don't hold out much hope.
