Check if you have an ICICI account that they haven't debited your last transfer from your linked account twice! They have me which has now put my bank account passed my overdradft limit! They said it will take two days to go back in. The said on the phone the will cover any charges by my bank and a letter will come out to me. They better had or they'll be hell to pay!

See post 12 in this thread dazinoz27! I contacted my current account provider first thing this morning, and by midday the second direct debit had been re-credited to my current account (ref: Direct Debit In). Well done cahoot, and that was the first time i've ever called them in 2+years!

Later this afternoon I check my account again, and a further credit to my current account has appeared, with the same reference as the ICICI direct debit usually has. Net result: both direct debits are back in my account in under a day!

Meanwhile the ICICI account has the following credit which only appeared today (even though date says yesterday!):

09/10/2006 BY INST xxxxxx : ECS DD OUTWARD CLEARING 1,xxx.xx

I've opened a Birmingham Midshires 5.2% savings account today where the remaining balance will be transferred ASAP.

    ICICI are clueless, avoid!

transfer from ICICI to my linked account appeared to be working today. In three days time I will know if it has definitely worked !

Not bad. Two days later and the amount has appeared in my cleared funds in my linked account.
  • I can't get into my account at all, neither can my husband (online)
It says we have incorrect password etc, I know thats not true but I asked for a new one anyway.
I got an email back telling me I had put the log in number instead of the account number, they said the right number was on cheque book, but we have savings accounts!

I can't find any paperwork for these accounts apart from internet access info, never needed any thing else.
    Should there be some?

I got the account numbers used for direct debit from my current accoiunt holder, but we can't tell which is mine or my oh.

I'm getting no response from emails now, I desperately need to access the money.

I can't get the customer service number as for some reason it appears in a small box that won't go bigger!!

If some one could give me that, I would be grateful

The transfer has arrived in my account . It was faster than I expected and a similar time to Egg.
Still no response to thye emails.
  • I had a phone call out of the blue yesterday from ICICI to explain that there had been a 'one-off' error with my transfer in and that the direct debit had been taken twice. They had not seen my email to them but they said the funds would be returned 'within 2 working days'.

I pointed out that I had spotted their error 36 hours prior to this and requested a refund of the 2nd Direct Debit from my current account provider. She must have been reading from a crib sheet because she didn't seem aware that I had already had the first direct debit returned by ICICI late on the 10th. I assume it was the first not second direct debit, unless they had sent the money via CHAPS not BACS?

The transfer in is still showing as uncleared funds, but I have both 'transfers in' returned to my current account. I requested a transfer out of £1k to bring my balance below £10k so that I can close the account ASAP.

See here FAQS number 13. Unlucky for some. ;)

Alternatively just withdraw all but £1.00 and keep it open (and 'visit' it once a month so they don't shut you out.)

You never know, they might get their act sorted, and may end up being the highest payer again. Or on the bright side it'll just cost them that little bit extra to have a 'dormant' account on their books.

Well I applied back in July for the account, sent a cheque for £50 but got back nothing. No password whatsoever. I had to argue over the phone to get my username read out to me - no use without the password of course!

Anyway, I wrote to them (by recorded post) the other day, asking to cancel the account and return my £50 plus accrued interest. So far, I've had no response, but I've threatened to go to a Small Claims Court if I don't see my deposit soon.

It'd be simpler to train two or three chimps to run ICICI instead!!! :rotfl:

UPDATE (20/10): Seen my linked account has been credited with the balance of my ICICI account this morning. So, they are alive and hiding somewhere - give 'em hell if they annoy you chaps!!

Now, I wonder where I should go next? Invest it in NS&I or should I just get a nice simple account like ING and treakle it in to my Principality account?
