Caterina do you not do buses? What about those megabus £5 fares?

Hi Jackie, yes I do buses but for a half day in Edinburgh I would have to spend several hours stuck on a bus - the return would be absolutely mad with traffic, so I think that this time I shall pass. Shame, because I was really getting excited about it, but if I stop and think it logically it is really impractical this time round. I hope you will arrange more events in the future and will look forward to meeting you all!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Have now looked at Ryanair site for a one day visit like I did to Glasgow....its coming out at around €70 if OH comes, only real problem is that we would arrive around 8am and return at 6.25pm....would make lunch a good option, need to talk to OH as not sure he will want the hassle just for the one day.....bit of a wuss really!

    Talk later

  • Elf, is it any cheaper or shorter to come to Glasgow for example, then cadge a lift, originally I had planned on the train but I think I will be going by car because of the Christmas Fair, or I could pick you up somewhere central. pm me your location if you don't want to say in public. :)

Thats really kind of you but I'm not sure it will make much of a difference (it be cheaper though i think). I think the train from here is about 3 hours to Glasgow which is silly because its only a 2 hours drive
I love where I live but it doesnt half make things difficult at times
