in full woad & wolfskins? :D

I've only ever been as far as the ground floor, one time I was with my oldest son who had bright blue hair at the time, the top-hatted doorman's face was a picture as he ushered us in :rotfl:
although I thought he would have been well used to the blue-rinse brigade ;)
  • I'm gutted. I was looking at train times and remembered it's my DD2's birthday party that day so I wont be able to come after all. I was getting really excited as well. Never mind. Maybe another time.

    Hi all

I echo Marie in announcing disappointment, had a good look at the fares and there are no cheap ones - and if I came with DH the night train would cost us upwardsof £360 - making this trip prohibitively expensife for just one and a half days! I would make the effort if I could stay a few days, as I really want to visit Edinburgh again, so I hope you will arrange another meet in spring/early summer. Sorry about this, ladies, and I hope you all have a great time out there and don't do anything I would not do (this leaves you PLENTY of leeway, don't worry LOL)!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I'm trying soooo hard to work out whether or not I can do this!! As for the question about ages - I'm 29 so class as under 30 (although only just happy0028.gif). Its a 3 hour drive from here and I have no car so would need to borrow one or get the train AND as I'm a single mummy I'm not sure what I could do with DS. I'd either need to get an overnight sitter or bring him with me. Thinking it might be a bit of a trial if I bring him tho sad0050.gif

Slightly gutted that its looking unlikely - I'd love to meet all you lovely people

Name a date and we will stick it on the diary - so we can book the train ticket 12 weeks in advance, too!

Have now looked at Ryanair site for a one day visit like I did to Glasgow....its coming out at around €70 if OH comes, only real problem is that we would arrive around 8am and return at 6.25pm....would make lunch a good option, need to talk to OH as not sure he will want the hassle just for the one day.....bit of a wuss really!

    Talk later
