  • No Marie but I'll help if you like. What do you fancy, B&B or hotel? Just got some lovely news from Olwyn, she got engaged :D I've told her about the meet and asked her to think about coming along. :)

I was thinking longingly of a nice pub and lots of Guinness, but we have children coming...

soon2bjobless you are more than welcome to come along! I think we might head to the Christmas market in Princes St Gardens but not sure other than that!

hope you can make it csarina, your OH is welcome to join us if he feels up to it and fancies a day out the house :)

I notice that Historic Scotland have free entry to the Castle etc. that weekend due to St Andrews Day being a few days later so that might be an idea for people who are bringing kids and want to make a day of it :)

If anyone's got anything in particular that they want to do or somewhere they want to go, I'm open to suggestions because I'm happy doing anything!
  • Fred, I am up for the pub too, we can do something family orientated during the early part of the day and then split up/ go to the pub for lunch/dinner and a drink later, kids are allowed in pubs where food is served, as long as you don't plan on getting raucous and dancing on the tables! ;)

Jackie, a lot depends on the height and size of the said table.
I cant walk miles and trek long distances so maybe if we could get a loose sort of agenda then the aged/infirm/alkies among us could come later or earlier then split ?

Have not booked anything yet....the mean streak keeps rearing its head and I go and look for somewhere cheaper all the time! Don't want to pay for breakfast as our flight is out around 9.30 on Sunday so will be leaving too early. My other problem is that I do not know Edinburgh at all well so not sure what area is best.

Would like to go to Christmas market if possible but am amenable to falling in with what everyone else would like to do....I can be agreeable sometimes!

Will be in Edinburgh early morning so if you can just come then Csarina we will certainly be available to meet you....

JackieG....saw Divorcingjack's news on daily....really pleased for her....do you think she will come to meet...can't remember where she lives but think its somewhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh so it might not be a problem for her.

Getting excited already....how good are the Christmas markets....should I bring an extra bag??

    Marie

Sent divorcingjack a message but her inbox is full.....

  • She lives in St Andrews Marie, or thereabouts anyway - it might be Cupar actually - not that that probably makes and sense to you :) I will have another wee look today for you, for accomodation and if I see anything good I'll pm you. Did you look at www.hostelworld.com that might work out well for you!
