So far so good, if i stay one night i can get it for £66 at haymouth travelodge.

We would just have to get the train on saturday morning and check in on the same day.

    thank jackie!!!
  • The ibis is cheaper and is 500m from the train station, I could only get £2 off the travel lodge!

I was just thinking at the weekend that it was only a fortnight away :j yay! Hopefully it won't be too icy then but I won't hold my breath! No idea where we're gonna go after we meet up, I'd be happy to just decide on the day unless anyone knows of somewhere that would be good to go to for lunch and a blether? We could of course be really OS and all bring a packed lunch and flask and sit on a park bench :p

No worries about having to dash off csarina it's great that you're coming along when you could be at home with your OH instead :)

I dont know where to go for lunch, am never up in Edinburgh now. We used to go to Deacon Brodies up the High St but I don't know how busy that is or when they start serving food. There's also the Worlds End pub .. John Lewis is close but again I dono how busy or how expensive
  • John Lewis ios nice but too expensive for what you get. If the weather had been good we could have had a picnic but its too cold, unless we do a museum or something for a couple of hours before we go to the pub? There will be stalls with food at the Christmas market too, we could eat as we wander, or just find a pub with nice food. Oh had an idea, be back later.

Not sure if the Museum is being renovated just now - does anybody else know ? I can't wander far or long before getting knackered, I have bloody ME. - I have no problem however sitting in a pub. Oddly enough.;)
  • I think its still closed Mardatha. OH has some friends in Edinburgh, will ask him to call them for ideas, I was checking the Daily Record website, I remembered they do restaurant reviews but there's a lot to trawl through. I am cool about not trailing about either. Looks like OH is off work that day now, and I have decided not to attend the school Fayre so I'll be coming through early I think and having a looksee round the Christmas Market on my own if no one wants to go later.
