i think that there should be a thread for afro hair on the health and beauty, might start one for all off us with afro hair etc and how we save money
.
Tiptoeing in I'd just like to say I think this is a good idea. I have caucasian tightly curly hair and used to live in predominantly ''black'' countries as a child where my hair was often braided along with my other friends' afro hair. This still remains one of the ways I ''deal'' with my hair as now I spend a lot of time out in all weathers. while I have learnt to manage my hair quite well - I get lots of compliments on it:o-it IS expensive but particularly as winter approaches and I'm out in the weather I tend to braid it in to two ''french'' plaits. but now in my thirties walking around with ''pigstails'' feels a bit childish. I'd like to find similarly inexpensive and easy ways to approach my hair when it needs to be neat and out of the way, and sometimes women with lovely controllable, brushable hair just can't imagine the trials of dealing ith hair that just can't be brushed, or washed with no product/driers where the worst result might me a bit of a wave or a bit low on body.
Right, I'm tiptoeing back out..no desire to be caught in crossfire:o0 -

I think ALL of us who didnt realise at the outset that OP has non-European hair could come back and just say we hadnt realised and were embarrassed that we hadnt realised
However why should we (I didn't comment before) be asked to apologise for NOT assuming the OP had non-european hair. Unless told otherwise, which we weren't.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Good morning everyone
For those who are completely puzzled about the direction this thread has taken, I believe it refers to a long-standing dispute that *a certain poster* has with me (for reasons that I'm at a loss to explain).
I no longer read *that poster's* posts, so apologise profusely if that is not the case.
I've referred this thread to abuse myself now
Have a great day everyone; it's my birthday so have a slice of cake (there's bound to be enough for most of you)
Someone at work made that cake - first one he'd ever made - not cheap but deliciousRecipe here
