I always find Penny helpful and forthright. I also believe she's entitled to voice her opinions on MSE and I've never seen her be downright rude to anyone (and you know what people can be like on DT Poet ) so as far as I am concerned she leads by example. Clearly you read the situation different so we'll have to agree to disagree otherwise we'll be going round in circles all night.

As for the last comment :naughty: Like I said to MrsE no need for sarcasm.

Considering you ended your comment with "no need to go on a crusade" I though my comment re what was allowable to be perfectly acceptable, and not at all sarcastic. It seems perception is all;)

ETA all that is coming across is that yourself and poet have issues with penny... they may not be the case but its not penny that is looking bad....

No, I agree it isnt Penny, but those who cannot/dont want to see others genuinely have a different take on things and step up to say that, and yet are villified for it by others with an agenda, or so it seems?

Oh bless, the OP asked if we knew any better ways than her of saving money and got a 6 page rant about wigs and what some posters think of others. Why don't the righteous just make a list of everyone who took the mickey, then they can throw stones and have done with it?

Oh. and maybe I'm unusual, but I have friends who bought hairpieces at a beauty show we went to, and my aunty who has very fine, thin hair does wear a wig now and then as she sometimes cant afford to go and get her hair done if she's going somewhere knowing that it doesn't make much difference anyway.

OP, I wouldn't be jealous of all those people buying lunches. At least you know yours was made with clean hands in hygiene circumstances that you are comfortable with.

I really don't think the comments should be justified by blaming the OP:(

If Penny's not looking bad (your words) why are you all in such a tiz about it? I certainly have no wish to go round & round in circles anymore.
If you all really believe nothing wrong was done then why give my post credence with a response?

i have no idea whether the op was genuine or not (am i allowed to say that?) but singling out one particular member who happens to be bg shouldnt be done on thread. why not just report it? why are yourself and mrsE so high and mighty and the correct people to deal with it. if you dont like what someone has written report it, simple. i'm stepping away from the thread now as its going nowhere and completely gone off the orignal topic.

goodnight :) has been lovely chatting with you :)

I am glad you agree, but I find it amusing that you believe your perception is the correct one and any other is obviously wrong, and worse, has been arrived at because of an agenda or witch hunt, rather than a genuine belief based on what was written.

If a BG is posting in a private capacity is comment still not the done thing? I disagree with your take on that too.....so, agree to disagree is what we will have to do, night night!!

Maybe because you haven't stopped going on about it. Whether or not you had a valid point to begin with it has now been lost in a haze of comments about PP. If my little boy had mentioned the same thing over and over like you have done I would have sent him to bed.

I've answered posts put directly to me.

& on that note - like your little boy - I'm off to bed.

    Goodnight:wave:

A few words on the economy of wig wearing. I've been wearing a wig for just about five years now. My first few I bought in shops in the UK. If you want one that isn't 'wiggy' looking, then it's not a cheap business. Cheaper wefted wigs cost about £80 and it doesn't take much of a look to see that they are wigs. These aren't made of real hair.

Neither are the ones that I buy, that have a natural looking parting without the woolly wiggy looking top. I am exempt from paying VAT on medical grounds, but these still cost about £170 each. I need probably 3-4 per year. When I get a new wig I pay up to about £18 to have them cut, as they aren't right straight out of the box, fringe too long, too thick and so on. Wig shampoo is £5-7 a bottle and the shampoo I use is £10 a bottle. Conditioning spray is £5-7 per bottle as well.

So it's not a cheap option. but my hair always looks nice, except when the wig is getting old.

I would still rather have my own full head of hair, as wigs get hot when the weather is warm.

For me wigs isn't really a cheap option. I used to have a dry trim once every 5 weeks or so.
