I only quoted Penny because I felt as her position of authority of board guide for old style she should show more dignity that to make fun of someones posts.
I did however mention a couple of times that others where at it too, I highlighted it in blue, would you like red?

I would have thought a little maturity would have made all OSers refrain from posting the troll & wind-up thread comments about & having a great laugh about anyone wearing a wig:(

Whats even sadder is the culprits don't have the decency to come forward & admit they were wrong:(

Its very sad a load of grown women are seeking to justify this behaviour.

Why don't you take some of your OWN advice. Sarky comments not needed.
I state again though I don't see BG's as a position of authority. How many people on here feel the same? Fair enough if you think they are a position of authority but that's just your opinion.

Regardless of the rights or wrongs of this particular issue, do you not in essence agree with the concept that those in a position of authority (stated) should set an example and be above reproach, and observe the guidelines and protocols they adjudicate on with others?

See my response above. I don't see BG's as a position of authority. They have access to merge threads and hold a wealth of knowledge with regards to existing threads but that's it. Penny's own sig states her opinions are her own and not MSE. Are we now suggesting then that BG's are moderators and should censor their opinions??

I've said my piece. this is nothing more than a witchhunt. Clearly MrsE and Poet are reading this differently, that's your perogative. However I am not trying to justify the unjustifiable. Consider what gets flung around on other boards I find the reaction to some of the comments a bit OTT. OP didn't make herself clear. Given that it's written word I took the comment "are you more frugal that me" to be provocatively worded, others did so and stated that it was a wind up. Given that troll posts are quite common I am not suprised people were suspicious. I am happy that the OP was genuine but I can also see why people might have got the wrong end of the stick. No need to go on a crusade about it all though.

Its a shame Penny doesn't see fit to retract & aplogise for her posts. Even people in authority can get it wrong & I think it commands more respect when they can admit it.

For a start, you're making this out to be worse than it was. The OP didn't make it clear that she has afro hair and it certainly didn't cross my mind.

This whole thread has been taken over by you baying for PP's blood. Were it not for the number of posts you've done, I'd say you were a troll, to be honest.

Has it not crossed your mind that PP may not even have seen this thread, or that she's seen it and PMed the OP rather than post it on here? It would certainly be more mature than someone harping on about 'Apologise, apologise, apologise'.

And being a Board Mod doesn't mean that someone has to be nicey nicey all the time. As someone's said, it does state in their sigs that their views are their own and not those of MSE.

As that same someone also said, this is a witch-hunt and for one particular 'witch'.

Not a position of authority, but surely one where they should lead by example?

I did not read the OP as provocative, but I did read the responses as insensitive given the subject matter.

I dont frequent the OS boards so rarely come across any of the posters involved here, so am not part of any witch hunt or crusade, merely commenting as I see it. I assume that is allowed?

ok.....i've just read this from start to finish and have one question....

mrsE whats your problem with penny? :undecided since when has a bg not allowed an opinion. if penny isnt allowed to express her thoughts then i suggest you keep yours to yourself as well. at least she doesnt appear to be alone in hers......

I really must take issue with you here. The comments made were not in keeping with the "be nice" rule which presumably BG's are supposed to uphold and therefore adhere to themselves. Therefore, it is quite proper that she be called on that, I am surprised no one else seems to be able to see that. I have no axe to grind, but I felt uncomfortable reading the comments about the OP being a troll, and the focus on the wig.

The tone of ridicule she employed when discussing the wig issue. And how that first comment seemed to give the go ahead to others to question the OP.

I am sorry if you genuinely can't see it, but I genuinely can, and feel that it is a valid point for discussion.
