There were a multitude of posts suggesting the OP was a troll, suggesting the hairdressing costs were very high, querying the wearing of the wig and yet you single out PP for criticism ? I didn't contribute to this thread because I had nothing worthwhile to offer. My hairdressing costs are higher than many quoted here, but then I live in London and have very difficult hair. I am also very thick apparently, because despite having friends with afro hair I was not aware of their hairdressing costs and don't know anyone who wears a wig. Mind you, I don't think any of them are aware of my hairdresser costs either
Indeed a lot of OSs will I hope learnt not to assume everyone is the same as them.
I just feel that board guides who are in a position of authority & responsibility shouldn't get involved in those type of posts when posting as board guides (with the official badge in their Sig).
Its bad enough that quite a few people did it, but it lends a weight of authority to it when the board guides do it.
Perhaps Penny should apologise for her mocking posts?
ETA please remove Pennys comments from under my quote:eek:0 -
I'm sorry MrsE, what part do you want me to delete? I'm not being awkward, I thought I just copied your post. I couldn't just quote you as normal because of course that removed your quotes of PP.
I thought BG's had in their sig that the views were their own? I certainly don't pay them any extra credence or respect than anyone else's:p:rotfl:

Its just hard in your post because pennys comments & mine are all mixed in.
I think the sig implies authority (& thats not a bad thing) but I think it then lends authority to their personal posts - even the mocking ones.0 -
Not at all MrsE, I never think any better of what the Board guides on any of the Boards write, than anyone else does (well maybe except Glad but that's 'cos she scares me
)

I dont get the fuss about £540 a year on hairdressing? I just assumed the poster lived in London!
I have a straight bob, fine hair but lots of it,which grows really quickly and to get a really decent cut in London could quite easily pay £50+ for a decent cut and blow-dry every 6-8 weeks. I dont, as I try to fit in my trips home with the need for a haircut as my hairdresser at home charges me £25 for a cut and colour (:j) and if I book my train in advance it can work out cheaper than getting it cut here plus I get to see the parents.
There have been soooo many times when I have thought about investing in a wig when my hair needs cut but I cant get home, I think it would be a really good idea.
I did do a "model" night at a salon it was a disaster, never again, took me 6 months to get my hair back to a half way decent style.
Unfortunately local collages (at least where I am) are usually only an option if you have four hours to spare on a week-day, I don't.I wish I would take my own advice!0 -

I have not spent a penny on my hair, except to wash and oil it, I can curl it on rollers platt it, style it, and it has grown like wild fire too, no breakage from all the relaxing or platting. - i have just started blogging about my hair too ( blog in my profile if you want to take a look) as it is one of the major money saving things i have done, and saved me a small fortune.
Also definatly google Frugal queens blog, lots of inspiration and ideas there too
How cool! I will be taking a look. I use coconut oil on my hair instead of expensive hair creams but could do with saving that £40-ish towards other things.0 -
MrsE it wasn't just Penny and you're mean to make out as if it was, now I think we should get back to the topic in hand.
