Nice one Pippa - always handy to have something extra around the place as a little gift for someone isn't it - I had a birthday for a friend last year which did that - I wouldn't usually buy for her, or she me, except when we actually see one another on our respective birthdays. Thanks to my Boots-sale aquired gift stash I had something in for her.
Pippi Remember that my "purse" spends that I am monitoring are personal spends only, so doesn't include food, household stuff, ebay postage etc, but would include popping to the pub at lunchtime, buying toiletries on impulse, being tempted by a bar of chocolate or a bottle of coke. That was what I wanted to clamp down on though - the little temptations, so hopefully the plan is working!I'm out and about with Mum tomorrow so there will be lunch to pay for, but that will probably be a Boots meal deal. We'll see what else I get tempted by!
I ended up picking up over £100 in orders in the last few days before submitting my Avon order, which was a bit of a bonus. I also had a quick tot up yesterday and realised that I now have very nearly 1 in 5 houses on my territory ordering from me, which is good. The more customers I have ordering *sometimes*, the less reliance there is on one or two who almost always order.
"Did" the Boots 75% sale earlier on, just came away with four small bits for the present stash though. Very restrained of me!
As it seems to have been agreed/accepted elsewhere that eBay postage doesn't count as a spend where NSD's are being counted, I have had two this week, and won't have any more now. Got to put some serious effort in next week to hit my 15 in the month target.
I have £13.00 in my purse
& I have £3.84 on my mobile....I think! Had several texts I had to send the other day and have lost track slightly!
Been trying to catch up around the diaries a bit today as well as doing lots of decluttering. Have found bits for the charity shop, bits for the eBay box, and bits for the rubbish. Making the effort to try to do a few bits per day is paying off now and I am actually starting to see a difference.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

sounds like you've done well with your Avon this month, i'm one of those occasional orderer people. My order came today so i have to go and declare it, but thankfully there's nowt on there that i have to fine myself over0

Sounds like your Avon round is coming on well.Nice to see that your decluttering efforts are paying off0

i was just thinking that i envissage your purse to resemble the tourist's luggage in the Discworld novels, it always opens to produce what the tourist needs, which in your case is a balance of £x. I wonder how you get the hundreds of little legs attached to it in your handbag though.
sorry having a 'moment'0 -
LOL - would be handy if that were the case LT!
Nice weekend here - had a meal out last night up in Ipswich with some speedway people who I've not seen since october so it was good to catch up. Our team manager also popped along for a while and we ended up spending about an hour and a half chatting with him about last season, this season coming, and all sorts of other stuff. The meal was excellent - pate to start, followed by a lovely juicy steak and some excellent fries, and cheese and biscuits after. I had to drive up anyway so offered to pick my friend up as it seemed silly for us both to take cars and I knew she'd like a drink. The meal was paid for back in November so the only spend last night was £3.05 on a drink for me and my pal (she bought the other two we had) plus £1 in the pot for a tip for the staff.
I slipped a bit on the grocery challenge earlier - MrEH and I decided on impulse that as we were making apple & blackberry crumble for pudding we ought to have ice cream to go with it.In my defence though I did jump onto mysupermarket.co.uk before heading out for it, and was chuffed to find that Sainsburys are selling Carte D'Or at half price - I had vouchers too so 2 x Carte D'or tubs cost me £2.68! :T And we have lots of ice cream in the freezer, which can never be a bad thing! :rotfl: In a way it's a bit annoying as it's going to take me over my £3 per day spend on food for the month, but January is such a "long" month in so many ways I'm not surprised. I also had spends on washing powder etc, and kitchen rolls, which have bulked up the total.
The purse challenge has gone a bit AWOL - Although I know exactly what I spent last night, the lovely MrEH gave me £10 yesterday morning so I wouldn't feel I had to worry about buying drinks etc. :happyhear He really is very lovely!I paid for the bits I bought in Sainsburys earlier on from my purse and if I'm honest, right now I have lost track of what is in there.
I'll revisit that one tomorrow I think. I am fairly sure that I have £3.64 credit on my mobile.
OK - second post to follow with some plans, aims and targets.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

MrEH and I have been thinking a lot about our plan to do at least one interesting thing per month through this year. This month has kind of passed by in the talking about it, which is a daft way to start, but from there we have:
February: Chinese New Year London
March :
April: The Hebrides!! :j
May: Camping trip to Cornwall
June: Mr EH's birthday will have to be celebrated!
July: My Birthday will have to be celebrated!!
August: Great British beer festival
September: Ludlow food festival
October:
November: BBC Good Food show
December:
We have some other stuff to fit in there as well - we are hoping to be able to get to some of Ipswich's away speedway meetings as we are riding in a different league this year so there are masses of tracks I've either not visited at all, or not for many years. The intention is to tie those in with visiting friends and family where we can. Hopefully a trip to Edinburgh will be in there somewhere. There is also a planned visit to Middle Temple Hall (one of the Inns of Court) where MrEH is a member, and thanks to some very lovely friends who MrEH gave some help and advice to a short while ago, we also have a voucher for a meal at Smiths of Smithfield which will be rather fabulous!
Just done a freezer raid to see what we have/needs using, therefore:
Meal plan for this week:
Monday: Roast pork risotto
Tuesday : Beef thai style curry
Wednesday: Soup and fresh bread
Thursday: Jackets,beans & cheese
Friday: HM indian takeaway!

Middle Temple Hall looks amazing, I'm guessing Mr EH is going to wear a wig one day and won't appear in the NOTW for it
.
Many years ago I worked for a short while at a legal firm, I left after being bullied and also realising "things werent right". No suprise to read about a year ago that some within the firm were fined and the one that was "training" (can't remember the techinical title) was now very high up, had been disbarred for naughty dealings .
Is Ipswich the same league as Kings Lynn? Its been a while since I followed it.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
