  • Claims companies provide a service and although there are claims companies that charge upfront fees there are others like ourselves that don't. So Marshellaka how can they be out to get money if there is no money to be made? Back end fee (NO WIN NO FEE) means the claims companies get NO money if the claim isn't satisfied in the customers favour.

Claims companies must be soooooo terrible. I mean what are we doing by using our years of experience in Consumer Litigation. Claiming back money for clients on a NO WIN NO Fee basis. We must all be out to rip the clients off.

What a joker. Do you research

Actually a large number of claims management companies have been charging up front fees. Besides, some charge a large percentage of the claim, when the person could just complain to their bank and use this website for absolutely zilch.

Obviously you work for a said type of company.
What a joker. Do one. :rotfl:
    Best Regards

You will never change MY mind here about claims companies. I think I did enough research on here about lots of claims companies thank you!!!
  • I'm not asking you to change your mind about claims companies. I am asking you to back up what you are saying. You are quoting "claims companies" not some claims companies.

claims companies would put complaints in regardless of anything TBH - well actually, no we wouldn't. If we take no upfront fees, why would we take on work that wasn't going to pay us out. Of course we earn money, we are not a charity!

Yes people can claim themselves. However there are people out there that don't like doing things like this. They need help.

I do agree that there are claims companies out there that give the industry a bad name. But is that not like any other industry?

Claims companies serve a purpose. Of course there are bad ones out there, but there are also some good ones.

If they do nothing else they raise awareness of the issues and ensure compensation is paid out when perhaps a large % of people could not be bothered.

The good ones will also provide clarity to their clients about what to do in situations like this. Some will even have a dialogue with the FSA and the banks.

I don't really want to back anything up if truth be known. I feel I have no need to back up what I say. I say what I say after being on here for a couple of years and reading posts from people who have been ripped off by claims companies. I did not state ALL claims companies, I did not state "some" so take it as you will.

This thread is about Lloyds and not about claims companies but I can direct you to one that is

  • So if it is not about claims companies, why are you quoting claims companies?

claims comps serve a purpose, they do bring awareness of ppi, they brought it to my attention.... no consumer website paid however many million to advertise on tv, the claims people did.

but then... i usued consumer sites to get it done myself, i had the time and inclination.

others dont, so claims comps serve them a purpose.

my work collegue got 14 grand payout from barc, the claims comp took 15% + vat so he got 12 grand without even knowing it was due to him

ask him what he thinks of claims comps

anyway, each to their own, some need to stop being so bloody pompous!
