"I confused it say 5.08% if interest is paid monthly or 5.2% if paid annually, so for a month interest payment its not so good, or am I reading wrong?"
Its the same it will say 5.2% AER as on the monthly option the interest is added monthly so the next months interest includes interest on the interest. Or so called Compound Interest. So its the same.Money, Money, Money ..... Banks/Casinos/Bookies give me all you money its a poor mans world....0 -

Unfortunately, the frontend is not quite right.
Monthly interest can be left to accrue in the ICESAVE account.
Apparently, there's a glitch in the application system, which IT staff are working to put right.
Meanwhile, the advice is to apply for annual interest initially. Then, when you log on, you can switch your account to the monthly interest option, if you so wish, and your interest will not be paid out to a linked account unless requested.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
Although ICICI never made the "Savings Bible", Landsbanki has no problem topping the Money£acts no frills internet savings charts from the start

Apparently there is another bug with the passport/drivers license and the address. Programmers are looking at it. If you do not have house number but a name it was not sending this through so the search on drivers licence/passport was not matching up to the address correctly.....
I suggest all those being asked for ID give them a call, apparently their customer services staff are very good? Hope it lasts....................

I didn't know why others able to complete their application without additional proof needed. I have filled in my passport, full UK driving license and I am registered with electoral roll and hold numerous accounts elsewhere but still I was asked to send proof of residency and proof of identity.
Anyway not a problem and have already sent the necessary documents together with my initial deposit.0 -

Have just received the userid. Log on is very easy. Site is superbly simple and you can change the interest from annual to monthly and have it paid into the Icesave account (which the on-line application seems to say no to but the T&C's say you can (also the customer services), but think the on-line is being changed.
One thing to rmemeber whne you first log in it makes you change your password so if you want a particluar one to use, then when setting up choose another and change to your preferred once account set-up.
Also if you decided not to send a cheque of £250 to set-up account then the transfer on-line can only be set at a date ten days in advance. So mine was ert-up on 10th so the first date I can transfer in is the 18th.
