There is one change and it's no big deal. As they say in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Don't Panic!0 -
Chill - they're doing them in batches. I got mine at 5.09pm. If they did them all at once they'd bring down a server or two.

it doesn't seem significant to me.... If you do an EFT, then you can't withdraw the money for 7 days. Probably a fraud thing?
The money's in your account, you just can't get it for 7 days.My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police - Margaret Thatcher.0 -

Hardly seems worth paying money into a savings account for less than that period of time anyway.0 -
Money has now hit my Icesave account - but is still showing in my Halifax account!
SuzeSuzey wrote:Replying to myself, but DD seems to be faster. I initiated one today from and it asked me when I wanted it to "affect" my Icesave account, the earliest date on offer being Wednesday 15th. I don't know what this means - surely it can't mean that this is the date the request is sent to BoS, so I can only assume it means this is the date on which the money will hit my Icesave account. If this is true (can anyone confirm?), then it's a lot quicker than BACS: I applied for the account on a Sunday, initiated a BACS for the first deposit the same day and it hit my Icesave account on the Friday.
Thoughts?

Tempted to move from Birmingham MS but noticed this from the T & C for the savings account9f. In very exceptional circumstances only, to enable us to comply with legal requirements and maintain appropriate liquidity levels, we may temporarily cease or limit withdrawals from accounts for up to 60 days. This limitation on withdrawals will apply even if we have already received notice of a withdrawal from your account. Money in your account will still earn interest during any such period and we will follow any instructions received during the period of suspension once this period has finished.
So they reserve the right to stop anyone withdrawing their own money for up to 2 months! Not sure I've seen that before with any other bank, even in "exceptional" circumstances -0 -

I've just got a quick question:
I received confirmation of the DD instruction today and the account number had extra zero's in front of it - 000xxxxxxx (where x is my account number). Is that ok?
I'm pretty sure it is but just wanted to double check0 -
Probably an exception but I'm not too impressed with Icesave at all. Originally decided not to follow the flock but wait and see what happened after the BOE rate rise. Decided to apply after Icesave announced their rise in rate.
Received everything quickly after applying but cannot access my account in spite of using supplied ID and my password. So unable to transfer funds. 'Phoned them more than once to sort things out but on each occasion was left on hold in excess of 10 minutes before giving up. Fortunately used the geographical number but still unacceptable. They were in line to receive a five figure sum but not any more I'm afraid. I'd rather lose a bit in interest than suffer poor service.0 -
I'm still waiting for my initial payment to hit the account. It's now 5 working days (7 in total) since I made a BACS payment. I have phoned them (10 minute wait) and now I'm waiting for them to call back. This will be the test - will they phone? 2hours and counting.
I also had the password problem. My choosen password didn't work and I had to get it reset.0
