Not necessarily (re regular deposits) - it's up to you when you put your money in.

Yes. See my earlier post. FWIW I hereby certify that they are not my own personal bank details. :p

:p They could, but there'd at least be some comeback if and when you tried to put it right!

Fair point. Although, by the same token, who is to say the Customer Services advisor might not give you their personal account details. ;)

It is correct, as per phone call with customer services this morning. However, he did explain that if using my account number (from the welcome pack) the bank I was sending the payment from may not accept 'letters' in the account number for the reference, so in that case I should miss them off. EG. 55A0000000BAR, to miss off the 55A and the BAR and just put the numbers in between. Hope this is clear, see my last post.:D
    ;) debt free...yippee

Replying to myself, but DD seems to be faster. I initiated one today from and it asked me when I wanted it to "affect" my Icesave account, the earliest date on offer being Wednesday 15th. I don't know what this means - surely it can't mean that this is the date the request is sent to BoS, so I can only assume it means this is the date on which the money will hit my Icesave account. If this is true (can anyone confirm?), then it's a lot quicker than BACS: I applied for the account on a Sunday, initiated a BACS for the first deposit the same day and it hit my Icesave account on the Friday.

    Thoughts?

Incidentally, does anyone know why they insist on DD? Does it cost them less or something?

Anybody seen anything (interest) into their accounts yet?
Yes. First amount received today, on the monthly anniversary (as per their T & Cs).

I was confused as well, but yes,it's the day it lands at Icesave - 3 days when I did it, the same as a BACS transfer?
  • Its the day the money is in your ICESave account, incidently iuts normally the day it leaves your linked account too.
