Just received my welcome pack.

Anyone tried to login to their account yet?
The letter says to login @ https://www.icesave.co.uk/log-in, but this now gives a 404 Object Not Found error. Earlier it gave a security certificate error, saying the certificate was granted to https://www.heritable.co.uk

So I tried to login via the main website (which ends up being https://online.icesave.co.uk/ofis/login.aspx). That had problems with the password. Tried 3 times and account got suspended, doh!
Phoned up the help desk, answered within 3 rings and put through to a very nicely spoken geordie lass. Password will be reset, but not until tomorrow.

I was just about to go put my address confirmation details in to the post box. But I'm VERY against whaling. It can sit on my desk for 24 hours while I think about it.

I know it's not the bank that is catching the whales but I don't see what other protest I can make.

Out of interest, do you investigate the investment strategies of all your financial providers and their subsidiaries in terms of 'ethics'?

And would you avoid accounts with all UK institutions if you disagreed with an aspect of UK government policy?

1. Your job for yourself is to get the best interest rate for your money.

2. If you want to help put some pressure on Iceland stop whaling it might be an idea not to damage No.1 above.

Very impressive, straight forward and easy to use website. I have made my first transfer yesterday and could be credited to my icesave account tomorrow 19/10/06 quicker than I have expected. I have also checked my current account and DD to icesave also confirms the date tomorrow.

When you make a one off transfer it will show you the earliest date it will be credited onto your account which in my case the 19/10/06 and had also confirmed this by speaking customer services.

I have just opened an ICESAVE account. Filled in the online application on Monday 16th and received the Welcome letter and User ID today (18th). Have not been asked for any further information. Gave my Driver No, Passport Number and I have lived at my present address for 30 years.

Once logged in the web-site appears very straight forward to use.

Just applied online, really quick and simple. Took all of about 5 minutes

Have to send off proof of name/address, which is fair enough really as moved house 2 months ago and not on electoral roll yet
