It would be really useful if all posters could add their month of joining npower (anniversary date) as well as the amount received because the calculations haven't been made clear, and requests for an explanation seem to be being ignored ;)

I had always been with npower due to paying off a large bill from 2005, i had got stuck in a loop paying more because of them dropping dd's and then sending huge bills and uping dd's :(

Moved into this house in 2002, moved to npower about 2004

It is thought there was a previous overcharge during 2004 as well, post 55 :(

Our anniversary date is 10th March (2007) so the refund (£67) based on our usage is pretty much spot on, concerned though that others might be short changed. The overcharge happened 1st March 2007 to 28th February 2008, so I joined this rip off from the beginning :(
  • Got £80+ letter Friday. Have not claimed but accepted what I was given as I am not sure what I was entitled to. Easy to get the cash as well since the same post contained a bank statement and a PAYE coding and both are acceptable as proofs of identity. 2 minutes in the Post Office and cash in hand. Thanks to those who fought on my behalf. So nice to get something without having to go through hoops.

I received a letter from Npower - unexpected and totally out of the blue - two weeks ago

It offered me £57 rebate in the form of a "promise note" to be cashed at the local post office

I had to confirm my ID and address by logging on to a website

NOTHING HAS ARRIVED YET THOUGH !!

Makes me wonder whether this is all a PR Stunt.......??

This is weird - everyone is receiving £56 PLUS or MINUS £2 - How exactly have they calculated the amounts owed ?

Mine is around £25 so not all are around £50+. I don't have a clue when my start date was or how long i was with them that year either :o
