Hi
the second poster in this thread provided a link to a post by Martin (the owner of the site) explaining the rules of this board, part of which I'll quote here but please read the whole postMSE_Martin wrote: »What it is for
This board is a discussion of all issues surrounding health, diet, nutrition and how they relate to MoneySaving. Discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments, how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable forms of discussion.
What it is not for
It is very specifically and strictly not for the discussion of what to do in the event of certain medical problems. Please do not ask questions about this. If you're having problems use facilities such as NHS direct and your doctor to go and talk through what you should do.
Martin
basically it's a board for threads about moneysaving and he also states it is not for the discussion of certain medical problems
just to try and answer a few other points in this thread
the menopause threads were not about moneysaving (so if posted anywhere on MSE they should have been in the arms or DT) and some of the answers were giving medical advice
a lot of posts in this thread have said no explanation is given but when I close a thread that breaks the rules of the health board, instead of just deleting it I leave the OP and then post the standard phrase written by Martin, I do this so the OP knows why I've had to close their thread
MSE is a privately owned site no one 'owns' a thread here and there is no right to 'free speech'
the family, health and pet boards are moneysaving boards, the arms and DT are for non moneysaving chat
boards go through phases and also MSE continues to grow and get more popular, so sometimes there does seem to be a clutch of threads on similair lines and therefore a few will be closed all at the same timeI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
