Everywhere i look things are getting locked, why?
mine has been locked and there wasnt anything nasty or unkind in it?! it was just our experiences of the menopause, there seems to be someone being over the top with this thread locking at the moment.

Yes and none of those rules were broken??!!
we were chatting about the menopause?!
nothing wrong was said, someone is being over zealous.0 -
I've had them blocked before - would be nice to have a note as to why when it happens.0

Thats what i mean, no explanation, nothing!
Its like being nannied, we are all adults, no one said anything untoward, it was my thread and we were chatting about the menopause.
Whats the point in having a forum if we cant chat? it defeats the object, and why keep my original post then lock others replying? i notice someone has been busy locking threads on the pet forum, absolute madness.0 -
people still had more to say on my tread coz they actually sent me a private message after it was locked - which was greatly appreciated.0

Know what you mean about feeling 'nannied' but its not done for the sake of the viewer/poster, its normally done for reasons of liability. If anything were to go wrong and advice or information were found to have originated from the site then it could mean the site was liable for allowing posts to exist.
If its any help (and its probably not) I have emailed the abuse team when lines have been crossed and its clear someone should be going to their doctor but instead are on here asking for help yet the threads live on.
I don't understand 'The Rules' either- it seems one rule for some, another for everyone else at times! I guess they have a few moderators though and not just the one so I guess things are done on personal discretion rather then the same system.0 -
I understand there has to be rules and quite rightly too but my thread had nothing in it at all to be locked for, we were just chatting about the menopause, the only advice that was given was about stopping smoking even then nothing nasty was written it was just a lady saying to me giving up smoking will make you feel better, whats wrong with that?!
I just went on the pet boards and there are loads of locked threads on there, its over the top and ridiculous. xxx0
