I was reading the menopause threads with interest....being "that" age.

TBH I've always been surprised that as a topic, it hasn't featured more frequently on this board, considering it's a major health life event!

I assumed it was because maybe the Board had a younger age profile, but maybe it's just because the topic has been snapped shut in the past too ???

There are lots of aspects to the subject of Menopause that are not necessarily deemed medical. Although there can be medical implications, it's just another phase of life, not an illness! It could be as justifiably discussed on this board, in the same way threads for pregnancy, slimming, depression, etc are permitted.

I would also like the opportunity to read more positive posts about the Menopause, as most of what one reads online is undeniably negative, yet many women, (self included atm, fingers crossed) go through matters without too many problems.

    Just my thoughts!

I understand there has to be rules and quite rightly too but my thread had nothing in it at all to be locked for, we were just chatting about the menopause, the only advice that was given was about stopping smoking even then nothing nasty was written it was just a lady saying to me giving up smoking will make you feel better, whats wrong with that?!

Could you message the board guide that locked the thread? Maybe she could give guidance as to how the topic can be discussed within the "rules"

It's interesting and supportive when we can all chat about something that is such a huge part of our lives, i wont be posting again its just ridiculous, its a natural thing that happens to all women and helps when you read that you arent alone.

Someone this last few weeks has had their hand on the lets lock it button! xx

    Don't hold your breath!

I've also contacted abuse about the indiscriminate locking of threads recently. But I've never had any response.

A potentially very useful thread on diabetes was locked yesterday.

The "rule" appears to be that we are not allowed to discuss health issues at all, even if we (or our pets) have received proper medical advice and want to discuss the day to day ways of managing ongoing heath issues in a supportive and money saving way.

Shall we have a countdown for this one? It will almost certainly be completely deleted without explanation.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
