What about it?
Indeed.
If someone does this to you the council certainly wont come out and remove it for you.
They will however send an "enforcement officer" around to make sure that you do indeed remove it in a timely manner or else receive a fine.
Thanks for letting us know. :TSorry, just wonder how you can injure yourself lifting a file.
Did you hear the one about the guy who was given H&S training for using a ladder. Had an accident. Sued and won. It was determined that he had not had enough training.

Despite having been told not to stand on the top of the ladder he did so and fell off.
It's a shame the NHS is so good. In days gone by people would remove themselves from the gene pool. Unfortunately medical science has found a cure for the stupid gene.0 -

Not quite.
Rest assured, the diversity and equality officers and other council non jobs will be untouched. They have a word for it: ringfenced
What will go is front line staff.
So when you drown in your rubbish because of 2-monthly collections, when the roads fall apart due to lack of maintenance funds, when your local library closes, when we go back to waiting for days untreated on a trolley in a hospital hallway, when the elderly sit in their poop waiting for someone to clean them, maybe then the likes of white horse and bendix will realise what the public sector does. But I doubt it.0 -
I wonder if we'll get enough grit for the road this winter?0

I work for a local authority and we have all been offered voluntary redundancy. When I enquired I discovered I would be paid just under £3,000 so declined. Iam having my wages cut by 20% in 2011. I agree some people who work in the council take the pee with things like sick leave. Ive seen some abuse over the years with that one and the mileage claims! Its all coming to an end now though.I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0

So when you drown in your rubbish because of 2-monthly collections (already take most rubbish to the tip myself), when the roads fall apart due to lack of maintenance funds (potholes everywhere around here and have been for years), when your local library closes, (it did - 2 years ago) when we go back to waiting for days untreated on a trolley in a hospital hallway (my father suffered appalling slow and inadequate treatment whilst being "treated" for cancer last year) , when the elderly sit in their poop waiting for someone to clean them (my mother did a few years ago in a top-rated hospital), maybe then the likes of white horse and bendix will realise what the public sector does. But I doubt it.
We're already there! The hundreds of billions that Gordon wasted didn't really improve things that much. Spending on the NHS increased three fold, but the service can be just a poor as ever. The problem is simple - too many staff all tripping up over eachother. The answer is simple - fewer staff being freed up to do the job properly without too much management interference. If the proposed cuts are done wisely, alongside improvements in productivity and more efficiency, it's possible public services could improve!0 -
Phillip Green has just discovered that billions is wasted in the public sector due to poor purcasing and procurement. No surprise at all to some of us and would not affect services at all if sorted out.0

Is that the same Phillip Green who set up his missus in Monaco to pay her over a billion in dividend in order to avoid paying a single penny of tax on it over here?0
