Our offer was accepted! 3rd time lucky! It's the absolute top of our budget and our in laws are having to pay our legal fees etc so we can have it, but it's our dream flat and we love it. Hope it all goes smoothly from here. Good luck to everyone else!

    Argghhh....

We are so close, but the survey (well, we knew it was a pit - but :rotfl::rotfl:) has mentioned the missing wall. They want the legal advisor to seek information on this. There is no paperwork at all for anything like this - no idea when it was done.

I have asked them what happens and they haven't replied to my email. I am just worried that the mortgage company will need this prior to sending the money.

The EA's sales person keeps asking me for the exchange deposit. I really want this information first and feel rushed.

*sigh* soooo stressed. The reason I like the house is because the wall is missing (mahoosive kitchen diner!).

Anyone else had this problem? I figure it must be fairly common with older houses. cel x

A 4 bed house I looked at just come on for £170k. It last sold dec 2008 for £147k and £117 in 2006 dec.

I was going to offer £145k, does that sound reasonable? Not sure why they think it has gone up £23k in over 2 years though.

Offer has been accepted and SSTC has gone on the EA's website! wahey!!

Broker is entering our mortgage application, solicitors are being instructed. Asking that both the lender and solicitors don't start valuations/searches until we ask, because the vendor hasn't found a house yet (although is looking and the EA reckons they'll be quick). Only decision to currently make is if we're going to want a Home Buyers Report or a full Buildings Survey... house is a victorian terrace with no visible issues, no dodgy extensions and has been recently treated for a little bit of damp. Leaning towards just the HBR I think...
