Thanks for the new thread. Money is v. tight this month and I told my OH today as he was buying a .20 p paper, um, thought we are trying to save money this month! :rotfl:He looked at me like I was an alien and said, 'it's only 20 pence!' Maybe I am getting a little too tight now?
OMG! Just had to share this update: In today's post, my OH received vouchers from the Sun giving him 10 pence off a daily newspaper for weeks! Is this a sign from the money fairy to help us out?!! :j
Oh it's the little things in life for me...:o0 -

:AMe and OH have often decided not to swap pressies or to have token pressies with an agreed £ limit when times are tight. We are both happier to use the extra for our kids.
Actually we often do it even when there is a little more money around. We either treat ourselves to something 'joint' in the sales or (like this year) put the money towards a holiday for later in the year. Everyone is different, but we honestly both prefer to do this most years
My 3 sisters and I all buy each other gifts sourced from CS or boot sales - it's a little competition we have every year. We all have different interests so it makes it easier to find things. We also all give each other a homemade gift - mine is usually chutney.
Last year, I was given a lovely antique book on the Genetics and Art of Dog Breeding (LOL! I know, I know - but it's what lights my candle :rotfl::rotfl:) and a Wartime Recipe Book.
One of my sisters keeps bees and collects honeypots - and I bought her a lovely 1950's honeypot from a car boot. It had belonged to the vendors mother - so I typed out a little label with it's history and popped it inside. Another sister got original Aga accessories that I found in a box in the corner of a charity shop - all for 50p each :T.
We all get so much pleasure from our annual "treasure hunt" and it doesn't cost much. I do know that some people are a bit sniffy about our charity shop gifts - truth is, my sisters and I all agree that it's the one gift we really look forward to opening at Christmas :kisses3:.
It's such a shame that today's society seems to judge folk on what they own or spend.

I'm just wondering if I would be able to store them in a big tupperware tub or in the fridge if I kept a layer of cling film (or similiar) between them.
I have made them before (altho not that recipe) and they are great... Not sure how to store them tho - I think i would probably freeze them and take out as required as I suspect they would go hard quick and be difficult to roll, but I might be wrong.
You can make yummy quasadillas with them too - once they are prepared, put one on a pan and cover with grated cheese/ham/onion/tomato whatever you fancy really, then pop another one on the top and heat thru, turn over so its all toasted and melted thru - oooooooooh Yummy
Good luck and let us know how you get on0 -
Sammy
Not sure if you are already a devotee of approved foods but they have tortillas on a special deal atm. £1.49 for 6 packs plus a chilli dip. If you can find enough other stuff to justify the postage, it might save you a lot of time and hassle!0 -
Nuala, the UK has now banned anybody with ME from donating blood. So the official NHS line seems to be "its all in your mind but we dont want you to give blood just in case it isn't..."
You're all so organised with your Christmas pressies.:T Lucky for me I don't have (m)any to give - last year we all agreed not to give pressies and used the money for a night out instead. I just got something small for children (lucky I don't have any!) which didn't cost much. This year I'd like to buy some but it will be on a strict budget.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
