Well my boys back from Carlton, he's raided the fridge (no change there), and has shot off to bed for an hour.
Lucky devils you lot are who have HEAT, we haven't had any for about 2 months, i'm telling ya we've got blankets on the beds, socks on feet, jumpers being worn. Its freezing.
Just to say EVERYONE is welcome to the join / visit the thread!!!!
The c word *shudders* at the thought of it. No idea where the money is turning up for that. Think i'll be saving up for it. My main concern is just the boys things. Everyone else can jump.
My store cupboard is empty, so i've done caculated an online shop of £52 which is full up of beans, toms, jars, flour, yeast and pasta. I have some kind of plan where if i get the above in i can just top up the extra flour as we go along. Think i might do a delivery on Tuesdy, but i'm not sure. I can't justify the spend as i'm planning using the credit card to pay it. hmmmm not sure what to do yet.

Hi folks, I've occasionally lurked on the old thread but hope you don't mind me joining in here. I'm so sorry to read some of you have depression. I have it on and off - that and other health issues make it hard for me to get out and about so I love the support and bit of craic on here. Not to mention money saving tips!katholicos wrote: ».....
I've always found that i can easily identify with many who contribute to this thread and would be sorry to see it closed or moved to a different board. I know there is a daily thread on OS and i did used to contribute to it, but when my depression and illness got worse i found that i felt overwhelmed with reading every post and responding to individual posts, specifically those that wished me well and showed concern to me. It sounds stupid because eveyone was/is so lovely on OS....but when you are in a 'funk' it is sometimes difficult to deal with even the slightest responsibility or feeling of obligation to reply.
....Thanks for pointing me here Nuala, straight onto my favs list! I very nearly paniced when the other thread was locked! To be honest, it is not cold where I am in the Southwest yet, sorry for anyone freezing their bits off though!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

When i got sky installed i had forgotten that they give you a £25 M&S voucher and that arrived a few days ago
VERY useful for a couple of Xmas pressies - the rest will be jars (if i can find them in a cheap shop) with HM coconut ice, cookies or fudge in. and thats it apart from DS and DDs
I CBA to spend out on stepbros and sis that I never ever see even tho its 'expected' so now I try to keep their gifts under a fiverCertainly gets the imagination going when you have to buy gifts for that price altho i have done it for less when i made wheat bags
No idea what to get nephews tho - early and mid teensAny ideas under or close to £5

Me and OH have often decided not to swap pressies or to have token pressies with an agreed £ limit when times are tight. We are both happier to use the extra for our kids.
Actually we often do it even when there is a little more money around. We either treat ourselves to something 'joint' in the sales or (like this year) put the money towards a holiday for later in the year. Everyone is different, but we honestly both prefer to do this most years0 -

^^^^^^^^6 :eek::eek::eek::eek: Oh my word -- this is what our flat is going to be like though very soon I expect as I cant afford to have heating on 24/7 for boyfriend to run around in his boxers! Although I think I will have to get my bum down to primarni at some point and stock up on jumpers/hoodies etc for us all!

^^^^^^^^^^^ my boys and holly dolly are my main concern - no idea where our money is coming from either - thankfully Ben doesn't care if he has loads and is wrestling mad and seen a few job lots of wrestling figures for £20 on ebay and that's about 20+ figures so he'd be landed with that and holly will be too young to really notice. Although did find some old decorations out earlier in my cleaning frenzy so have lights etc - need to replace baubles/tinsel etc but lights and that are all here. Going to see if I can tempt Ben to make some Christmas decorations like paper chains etc too.

I dont even technically have a store cupboard at the minute. What is in my cupboards is what we are living on! so I really need to get my bum in gear - did try cheaper pasta this month though and Owen said he isnt keen on it and that was in a thick sauce so will go back to old stuff but need to do a desperate top up - have put aside £80 for a two week shop but hoping I will be able to put another £20 towards it that will be purely for extra tins like beans/spaghetti/beans and sausages/tomatoes and bags of pasta. Think I might get some dried milk too just in case but I live next door to the local shop so its handy for me and have a shop across the road that is open xmas day.
ALSO NEED ADVICE
Boyfriend is on healthy eating/muscle building spree at the minute and has asked me to make him tortillas for his lunch box instead of rolls so any idea on things I can fill them with??
Nipping away from comp for two minutes - going to have a toasted cheese and onion sandwich adn feed little miss grumpinessTime to find me again0 -

Sweeties.
My DD will be 15 on Monday and all her (boy) friends eat sweets like it's going out of fashion. Don't try and get something "cool" - whatever you get will be bound to be embarrassingly old-fashioned as far as they're concerned - but boys are never too old for a party-pack of Snickers :rotfl:0 -
:j:j:jOk so that makes me a teenage boy. Whoohooo !0

Nuala, the UK has now banned anybody with ME from donating blood. So the official NHS line seems to be "its all in your mind but we dont want you to give blood just in case it isn't..."0
