why on earth would Frugalista be embarrassed? the user she mentioned is ceridwen and not what you assume to be a troll and they spent time this morning editing all their previous posts
  • I don't want to go OT again, but I just wanted to make it clear to Frugalista that she shouldn't feel she isn't welcome, personally I really enjoy her posts :) I had also noted what you've said about NowWhat, whoever they are!

    :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Back to topic quick :money:

I was suprised that the postman knocked this morning... wasn't expecting anything (I didn't think) and he gave me a package :T:T:T

When I opened it I remembered a promotion on FB for Nivea (might still be running) and they were giving away loads of 'daily essentials fragrance free facial cleansing wipes'

Its a full size pack too :j:j

Personally, so long as everyone concerned is prepared to let the arguement drop and not harbour grudges, I think EVERYONE should be welcomed..... although the more 'political, idealogical' comments should perhaps be avoided by all. It throws the thread off topic, which concerns the board guides and can very easily lead to disagreements, which then spiral

    Anyway......

I haven't bought meat from Aldi, but buy loads from Lidl. I find it very good, well priced when full price and it is often on offer too:j As they are very similar, I would have thought Aldi would be similar in quality/price

Someone on the last thread was asking about cheap veggie meals... a good cookbook for that is the Rose Elliot 'Cheap and Easy' book. Bonus it's on Amazon for 1p atm:D

I havent been on, been CLEANINGGG !! (just so you know that I do, sometimes, clean my house !) Didn't know this had been locked (?? how do you lock a thread ?) probably a lot of the usuals don't know.
I don't get involved in arguments in forums anyway - is such a waste of energy. People always want the last word & they go on and on and onn and everybody else slits their wrists or screams into cushions :D
I can go into other forums (the BAD ones at the bottom of the page :D LOL) and say my bit, then come out. I dont go back to see who said what, I just dont care lol - anti social old sow eh :D
My son is here for the day helping the RV with the bike, this is the 3rd time in two weeks he's stayed all day - and my god what a difference it makes to the cupboards  The cooker is always on, I will have no gas left by monday. He's drunk about 600 cups of tea, all full of sugar , demolished a pkt of biscuits already and its only half 12:eek: and now he's asking when is dinner and he isnt going home until half 8 tonight !:eek::eek:
But is lovely to see him.. :D

Are you sure your not secretly my mother in law??????? :D sounds like Owen at his mothers house. First thing he does is raid her fridge/cupboard but shes daft enough to tell him where everything is so its her own fault.

I had no idea the thread had been locked but saw this one so figured it had maybe gotten too big.Either way nice to see some familiar faces have found there way over here.

Anyway - am dreading the c word now - I just don't know how we are really going to afford it so I'm being miserable this year and everyone is getting pyjamas! lol. That way I will be able to focus on Ben and Owen - Holly is near enough done and not getting much as she will only be 5.5 - 6 months so the wrapping paper will amuse her more I think. Must be better prepared next year - think I'll start in January this coming year -- as I usually start in July but as I had bump and little miss arrived it was put off until September and now I'm wwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyyy behind!

Gas / Electric - I'm dreading come the colder months - I am noticing its cold now though and I'm worrying about water etc being on too long and the gas running out. We are both classed as earning too so aren't entitled to the cold weather grant either. I will therefore be getting the flat sorted for the colder weather that's on its way - its been gale force winds here half the day and by gum I can feel it. Reminds me I need to text my mother about the curtains she has for me - heavy velvet ones that are nice and long so will sort out big living room window no problem. Think all together there are 3 pairs coming to me -- if there is I think two can go in living room adn one in our bedroom as the radiator is dodgy. Thats worrying me a fair bit as I dont want holly getting cold in winter months - thankfully she is 3 months now though so can start having a few little bits of weaning as well as her warmed milk feeds so she can go to bed warm and she has plenty of blankets and Im due to get a baby sleeping bag off my sister with these curtains so should come in handy. She wears a hat to bed too. :D

Storecupboard - this really needs working on!:(

Apart from that Im hoping Owens pay will be ok this month and I wont need to help him pay his bills and then that way I will have extra to put towards bits and pieces. I ahd to find £100 of my own money this month to pay for bits and pieces so fingers crossed I'll be ok next montha dn will be able to get my rug etc. Fingers crossed I should have about £200 extra next month so can get a fair bit done. Had to pay out a fortune this month it seems - £100 extra on rent, £40 extra on rent, £20 extra on water, and £50 for bens insurance and football boots/shin pads!:eek::eek::eek: so next month I can safely say is Xmas shopping, some towards extra gas and electric and stock cupboard!
    Time to find me again
