Nuala - its good you are going to keep fighting - and we may not have met you in person, but we have met your kindness, warmth and spirit, and they are the important things. :)

Busy day here today have lost so many days this week with a variety of stuff, now on catch up, having real problems with idea of Christmas as all decs are in loft, I cant do heights and my dad isnt fit enough to get up there either. OH is back here now, but yesterday hurt his hand in work and cant do anything (well nothing useful anyway). Was supposed to collect tree today but not sure whether to bother.

All the ice and snow have gone just leaving everything very wet, school are all really busy and there is so much going on, I am trying to snatch an hour here and there to get organised but it seems as quick as I plan something, another thing pops up, its the bit about Christmas I hate tbh. Bin wasnt emptied again today, its the second time in three weeks, they seem to just keep missing us, council say sorry - put bags out next week, but cats and dogs get at the bags and the rubbish ends up all over the place, its a mess to clean up and its not necessary if they would just collect the bin!!

Having problems with DS12 this week, his attitude is awful and he is shouting at everyone all the time, he s always bad near Christmas and birthdays, but it still doesnt make it any easier to deal with.

Had flat tyre yesterday that needs replacing today and I need to collect little car from OH work, its been there since yesterday as I ran out of time to collect it.

Today I feel there is so much to do and I cant decide where to start or how best to achieve it all so am achieving nothing at all. Need a kick up the backside to move out and just do something.

I was like that yesterday, but today am in kick !!! mode :j
Have cleaned the house (wow!) made bread, had a huge row in a forum (whoohoo) and am happy. :D
  • Nuala, it's mostly all been said, but I just wanted to echo -get someone CAB, welfare rights or whoever - who can help you through the system. These benefits are RIGHTS, but you sometimes have to fight for them. My FIL had Alzheimers and was very clearly unable to look after himself, but MIL had claim for allowances turned down - then granted on appeal. Sorry you are having to go through this.

Wow, I am super-impressed! You'd better knit yourself up a superhero cape in your spare time too. :)

I am feeling a bit better now, sitting here sniffling and smiling too thanks to you lot.

I have rung Citizens Information (same as CAB I think) and they will help me fill the form. Just need to wait for a day I'm well enough to get out to them. And I have asked for advice from the ME groups. So far what I have heard is that it is not unusual to turn it down initially - it seems to be a sort of trial by fire.

Am sure other things will come to me as I go along. But as someone wisely said here, I will do a bit here and there as and when I'm able.

It has made me realise that I've been kind of pretending to be ok - not sure if I was just in denial - and this had made me realise I'm really not and I need to get better at asking for help. Just talked to my sister who was actually sweet and wonderful - I had been scared she would judge me.

Gailey - my condolences for your loss. I'm sorry I missed that somehow. I'm delighted for your windfall, just wish it was in happier circumstances.

Kidcat .. oh boy do I know that feeling of being overwhelmed with so much to do. Sometimes I find it helps to pick one small thing and that helps get the ball rolling. Good luck! Oh, and hope things get better with your DS and it is just a phase.

Big thankful hugs from me to all of you and extra ones to anyone struggling (which is most of us I reckon!).
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    Thank you all!

I am going to go back and read all your messages again. I was in floods of tears reading them last night (although that might have been Corrie too), I was so deeply touched. And then I come on here this morning and you've set me off again! I just don't know how to say thank you enough ... and you've given me smiles too.

I am a wreck right now and it has depressed the hell out of me but I AM going to fight it. I've got 3 weeks to do that and I'm going to contact the ME charity and see if they have any advice. I don't think I'll involve my family - I love them and they love me but although we are close in some ways, they don't understand ME ... have had the odd comment from like "could you not get a little job?". They didn't really understand depression when I had that either and it ended up in a lot of hurt feelings. They don't see me unless I am on a good day so they don't know how bad it can get. It's probably my own fault, I find it difficult to talk about to people and if I'm well enough to meet them, I prefer to "ignore" it. Thankfully some days are better than others though so I will use those to fight this damn thing.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart. I am overwhelmed at the kindness of you wonderful people who have never even met me.

Nuala keep your chin up love!!!!

My sister had been applying for disabilty benefit and been constantly turned down for the past 25 years. Then a couple months ago she finally won her appeal. She's so much happier now and a brilliant start for her 26th year on planet earth.

You can do it, appeal and appeal till you get what you want.
Never ever be ashamed of yourself.

Get your fighting spirit and go at them like a banshee!!!!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Nuala (((hugs))) you are one of the nicest posters here:A, you always find something nice to say to everyone so I do wish you well with your appeal. My cousin had to appeal and finally got her payments re-instated. ME takes away your confidence and self esteem by the very nature of the illness and how some people indeed some drs dismiss it. Rest up and prepare your case before going to CB, I for one will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I have been reading but not posting as this virus has caused problems, now pulled chest muscles by coughing too hard!! Now it hurts to cough and to breath deeply! Dr has checked me though so nothing more sinister! phew! 2 weeks laid up though is getting a bit much especially with so much to do for Christmas. Might have to take a few shortcuts though!

We had big problems with the condensing boiler going off due to outside waste water pipes freezing up! Thank goodness dh was around to climb up the ladder with the paint stripper to defrost them! They are lagged (very thickly) but now thinking of boxing them in until the summer when we can move them to go under the bathroom floor, leaving less piping open to the elements!

Gailey - I used to make most of dd's costumes when she was little and while they may not have passed exams, at 26 she does remember them fondly! It shows that you are a lovely caring Mummy!

I have just managed my first baking session in 2 weeks and made some choc chip and banana muffins, lovely easy recipe too! Sorted out my sweet tooth as I can't get out to buy sweets.

Hope you are all keeping warm and dry!

If you think of all the MPs and big business types, and all the banks /big companies....just think how much they get spent on them.
And then think how the PTB make people like us feel when we apply for sick pay from a system that we have paid into for many years...
It's psychological warfare !! Make us feel degraded and then we'll crawl away back into the woodwork & they can carry on partying.
NO BL00DY WAY WOMAN ! Get your wee self out and (wo)man those barricades and fight for it ! Generations of poorer Nualas fought for social change, dont let them down by giving in!!
Now get the kettle on and we'll all come over and have a council of war in your kitchen . Got any cake? :j:j:j

Cake? CAKE??!! Twinks and some voddie and I will be there in a flash and kick their !!!!!! for you NB. :D And according to my friends I am one scary bird!!

Went and watched the nativity play today, it was so cute. All the little ones were dressed up awwww
Snips was a sheep, he looked so big and proud up on the stage, awwww. Can't believe how much he's grown. He's so big now. Its like an ice rink out there, the ice/ snow has started to melt and its atrocious outside.

Then came back home to find another default letter and £12 charge off natwest :mad:.
Basically they keep losing money then charging me for it.
One example is this apparently i missed a payment for one of my CC's in August but natwest only decided to charge me in November for it. So up to now four payments have disappeared, but only two have been found. I'm so angry.

So i'm going to speak to OH tonight about opening up another current account with another bank and transfer all our money.I.e whats left of the overdraft and see how it goes from there. I know its not great and probably really silly of me to do but i feel so frustrated. I'm trying to pay my debts off only to be knocked back arghhhh

But on the good news front i've almost paid one credit card off :j:j:j only £75 left on it and i shall be free!!!!!! Fingers crossed by end of December i will have enough money to pay it off in one go:D.
  • had DS2 first nativity today he was a shepherd and spent most of the play with his finger up his nose!

My sister and mum came and sister won the raffle, she was chuffed the slipper set she won is in my neices size so that another cgristmas present sorted for her.

Nuala - good news that citizen information can assist you xx

Gailey - good news that you clear some debt but sad how it has happened. Sad how wills can cause troble my eldest sister hasnt bothered with any of us since dad died and i informed her that mum wasnt selling the house - she wanted her share of the house money now even though mums still alive and living ther.

On a nicer note, the boys have been sent £25 each from their godparents with a note asking us to buy them a christmas gift each. I honestly dont know what to get them they dont need anything. we put the cash in their trust fund last year at xmas but think they want us to buy them something instead. The boys arent spolit but theyve got enough
