Aw (((((Dolly))))) - I feel for you. Could you go out for a walk tomorrow even if you can't make it to the shops? I do think a change of scene and fresh air can make a world of difference.

I put in a bulk order today at my food co-op. I will get a decent discount for buying in bulk and will have enough pasta, tinned tomatoes and other bits to see me through the whole winter I reckon. It just covers some basics really - I have other stuff to buy but if I got stuck I would survive for aaaages on that lot. I'm fairly well-stocked already but I am down to my last couple of tins of tomatoes  The tricky bit will be finding space for it ... but I will manage somehow!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

  • Thanks everyone!

Frugal - I ate a really carb-heavy dinner and I feel a lot better after that. I'm still aware that it's hovering in the background but I feel more content. I suffer from low-blood sugar related mood swings when I have PMT and so, with my hormones messed up by having been pregnant (and stopping breastfeeding about a month ago) I am more sensitive to them than normal.

I am taking magnesium (which really helps my mood swings and, when I don't have PND, keeps them under control). I've just started taking St John's Wort as well but that can take a while to kick in.

Thankfully I'm fairly mercurial and my natural state is an optimistic one. When I do go low though I go 'It's the end of the world!' low! Am trying to avoid going on proper anti-depressants but I'm monitoring things. If I ever feel things are getting really bad or are affecting my son in any way then I'll be straight down the docs but I'd rather do it without too many man-made chemicals if I can!

()s kitcaboodle and dollydaydream and hope you both have a better day tomorrow.

Primrose, I am a great window opener as well to air the house and first thing I do in the morning is open the kitchen door to see what the day is like and let some fresh air in, even if only briefly. Drives OH mad - he likes the house much warmer and stuffier than I do - but then he gets his fresh air working outside all day in all weathers so I can understand why. It's a wonder some of our window catches haven't broken from being opened and shut so much. My parents are the same. In their old house, they had a thermostat on the stairs and had to replace it twice because every time Mum walked past it she turned it down and every time Dad went past, he turned it up again! And I do HAVE to get outside every day at least briefly, whatever the weather, or I'd go mad I think.

Me too I am like you for windows open, even when ive got the GCH I have to have the kitchen window ajar, I sleep with my big bedroom window open 24/7 /365.....it doesnt matter what the weather is doing outside as long as I can breathe cool fresh air, im never cold under the duvet.........

Like you I must take from my mother I do exact as her with the windows and doors always open.........also fresh air when I sleep keeps my sinuses from bunging up too much.........ive been having some lovely beach walks everyday with the dogs in the cold ,been really nice to get out of the house and breathe sea air in..........:D

    Kitcaboodle,

Sounds like you need a large frothy chocolate, a few hours serious, full on, deep meaningful, grumble and gossip with a few girlie mates while OH looks after the babe.
  • Nooooooo!!!! I forgot that it's three weeks till Christmas and I should have booked my shopping delivery shop a day or two ago!

Just managed to get Tuesday 21st from Tesco so that will have to do! There is NO WAY I'm going to the supermarket that week, we went to Morrisons (nearly) locally today and it was horrid already!

I'm another one who has to open windows every morning just to "change the air"... and I keep the bedroom window always, no matter how cold it is. Only have your nose sticking out the covers and you get a good sleep LOL

Hope all the little dogs and cats are feeling better.
poor little pug, i'd complain to the vets association and get the negliegent vet told off for not doing theyjob properly.

The snow is now turning to ice, nearly fell on my back side four times in row just from walking to the gate.

    Update on the car front:-

Mechanic replace the alternator belt and it instantly started to break again. So he's havng to order a tensioner from the car dealer. So hopefully fingers crossed this will solve the problem.

I'm not holding my breath though. CAn see the bill being a £100 minimum.

We haven't done today due to OH and boys faffing about. So by the time we left the house it was started to get house. So we got back in the pitch black and OH is now bored in the house.

So tomorrow were planning on going sledging in the snow. Its the only thing cheering us up right now.Simply because its free, fun and keeps the kids happy.

Money is stupidy tight and OH is talking about getting a personal loan to pay cc's off and paying for gas registration. Simply because we don't know if OH will have a job on Monday:(. Sorry for whining all:( i'm just feeling very depressed at the mo, think i may have to go to the doc's and ask to be referred to a counsellor. My "black dog" is back with a vengence once again.

Anyways better put some clothes away and put the boys to bed.

I think many of us on here are worried half to death about our bills because we actually budget and pay them. Everyone else I know doesn't give a rats a$$, is spending like a drunken sailor and shoving it all on tick.

    It's nuts.

That sounds really tough Kezlou, big hugs to you. Good idea to get some counselling - I hope you get the help you need. Worrying about money etc is really making it harder for me to keep depression at bay too. I really hope your OH keeps his job. I know it's really hard but try to enjoy yourself tomorrow with the sledging - I find it really is the simple little things that keep us going.
