Don'f fret your head about the non helpful dude, he has stupid . You can't cure stupid sadly. We're living through an epedemic.

The first thought I had was that, as he was watching, that he wanted to offer but was worried he'd get a mouthful - lots of women these days get offended by offers of help from men - not me! I am all for chivalry!

Still not thawing here, apart from icicles in the sun. Got 2ft lying snow and am not going out until monday. We had buses today on the main rd - first since Sunday. And post = I got two things I'd been waiting on for ages.
I am quite happy to stay in until spring comes :) I keep myself busy. I also just wake up when it gets light and go to be dwhen I get tired, so not too fussed about time zones etc. But I get annoyed that Scotland has to change just to suit Europe which is hundreds of miles south of us.
  • I feel like cr*p. :(

Once a fortnight DH goes out for the evening with mates (I used to go too but can't face the long journey on public transport & know that they wouldn't really want DS there as well). I am all for this and won't let him cancel unless I'm really flagging/suffering with PND (I have a mild dose of it).

I coped OK this week but then last night he got stuck at work and his car got locked in the car park overnight. He works some way away so he didn't get home until MIDNIGHT! This means I had two long days/nights looking after DS on my own.

The plan was that we'd all go out as a family today and get his car back & then visit somewhere on the way back, maybe do some Christmas shopping. However, DS was up until nearly 4am and then, once we were all up, DH faffed for England until it was getting dark out and I really couldn't face going out or the idea of taking DS out in the cold when it was going to be getting colder and we'd be waiting around on train platforms. Besides which, most places would be shut by the time we got the car & DH got the hump and said he didn't realise there was any urgency...

So, DH has gone on his own to get the car back, leaving me on my own with a very fussy DS. Now DH has rung to say there are no tubes for the last part of the journey, only a bus replacement service, so he'll be a lot longer if I still want him to get the car. However, I can't face the thought of this messing up even more of our time where he's off. I worry about DH being off getting the car and I'm really struggling with the PND being left on my own with DS (I would worry even more if DH took DS with him like he offered to!) I just feel really bloomin' low. I know it will pass but right now I feel that my life totally sucks, even though I know rationally that it's great (loving hubby, lovely son). That's why I know it's PND not circumstances getting me down!

I had so many plans for today, all of which have gone out of the window. I sure hope my birthday tomorrow is better because so far this weekend is awful.

My computer is also still making strange noises despite having the hard drive swapped out & I'm dreading having to ring them up on Monday and explain that it's still not right, especially as it's now going to be at my expense if it has to go back to them as they cunningly padded this out getting me to run 'tests' at home myself until it was passed the month when it was down to them. :(

Gah! Can things start going right please?!!!

  • Hi everyone Haven't been able to log on for a few days so have loads to read. We are delighted to report that we have finally been offered a two bed bungalow and so we are moving in the next week. Not the best weather for moving home and at this time of year, but we will manage and we are so happy. We have waited a long time on this. A smaller home no huge garden to care for and snug and cosy. It is bitter cold here and we have snow but nothing like what so many are coping with. It is great to know so many of you have been storing food etc in case of bad weather etc. I had been doing the same and where we are all supplies are getting through okay. Take care everyone, keep safe and warm, and hugs to those who need them.xx Margaret Will be back on when we are settled in.:)

  • :(:(:( i am sat here crying all because i can't get the car out, after all my shovelling this afternoon and shifting soo much snow, i only got the car to reverse and then it just wouldn't budge....... so after 20 minutes of trying i gave in, literally dragged DD out the car and stomped back in the house..... the car is currently sat right in the middle of our street because i couldn't get it to go back where it bl**dy came from!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:
i was sooo loooking forward to going out - ok it was only to pick DH up but it was out of these 4 walls, i tell you tomorrow i am going out, even if i have to walk the 6 mile round trip to Asda and if i don't get out i will not be responsible for my actions

supose i better do something useful and go and blend the soup for tea, although i really fancy a chinese and a very large vodka(or 3)

I went out briefly today after several days stuck indoors. It was SO nice to get some fresh air again and the temperature had warmed up considerably. My nose has begun to feel really blocked up after being indoors continually. I'm sure the air in the house has dried up considerably and I often wonder how much the oxygen level actually drops when houses are all closed up against the winter weather. It was a relief to throw open a few windows briefly just to change the air. I can't help speculating whether this contributes to the feeling I have occasionally to being completely lethargic, as I felt so much better after my brief walk outside.

()s kitcaboodle and dollydaydream and hope you both have a better day tomorrow.

Primrose, I am a great window opener as well to air the house and first thing I do in the morning is open the kitchen door to see what the day is like and let some fresh air in, even if only briefly. Drives OH mad - he likes the house much warmer and stuffier than I do - but then he gets his fresh air working outside all day in all weathers so I can understand why. It's a wonder some of our window catches haven't broken from being opened and shut so much. My parents are the same. In their old house, they had a thermostat on the stairs and had to replace it twice because every time Mum walked past it she turned it down and every time Dad went past, he turned it up again! And I do HAVE to get outside every day at least briefly, whatever the weather, or I'd go mad I think.

Kitcaboodle (((((hugs))))) You are right, it WILL pass - I had PND with DS and DDs which were treated with antiDs... Are you on meds for it? If not then you really should think about it. Can you do something for yourself this evening.... ie watch your fav dvd? something you've recorded? a relaxing bath? I know doing 'anything' seems hardly worth the point when you feel like that but it might help?

Dolly - poor you :( I hope the thaw starts for you soon so you are able to get out more.

Hugs to all those who need them, which I suspect is most of us atm :(

    Kitcaboodle,
Sorry you are having a bad time, it will get better.

Your computer sounds like the fan has gone, grinding noises are usually the fan bearing not the HD. Is there anywhere else that can look at it for you as it sounds like this place is giving you the run around.
