the boiler has constantly been firing up - then again, it is bitterly cold here today.

Yes but it will not be on for as long. It will heat in short bursts.

...and dont forget folks "No going into debt for Christmas"......

We all know some employers are "lurking in the wings" waiting to come out with redundancies in the New Year - we just don't know which ones...

So - in case its yours - then keep a lid on that moneytin with the Christmas spending and NO DEBT..
  • Could I have some special OS style crossed fingers for us today please. Both DH and I have job interviews (not the same job!), one of us getting a job would be a good start although I'm still employed until the end of January so we're trying not to panic yet ...

Snowed most of the night, just went off at half 6. The road the neighbours and RV cleared yesterday has a nice new foot of snow on it:D and the Sky weather lady just gave me a fit of the giggles when she said , very seriously, that "you might have to scrape your car windscreen this morning"........... our road has 4 wee humps in the snow, one of them is our car. Need to find your car first to start scraping !:rotfl:
Milk running low but I have tons of dried. Sweeties all gone but I can bake. Cat food finished but I have sardines :D House nice and warm.
  • Glad to hear you're OK Mardatha, its beautiful to look at but what a pain in the behind.

Good luck for your interviews Mr & Mrs PLP
Oh and fingers crossed that the little Kidcats have stopped needing buckets.

It's cold here, but no snow as yet. I think I'll go and do my weekly shop today and get it over with, then I can carry on cleaning and decluttering. I would really like the house to be in better shape by Christmas. The kitten has gone to be spayed, so I will be free of any extra "help" until she comes home tomorrow night. I'm not paying for her to stay in the vets that long - my friend who is a vet nurse takes her, and then will keep her home with her until the kitlet has recovered a bit.

I'd like to make some cheese scones if I have time too. The house elf soesn't have a sweet tooth, and I have a feeling he may like them.

    Take care all of you.

PLP and OH - Good luck! fingers and toes crossed here for you both x

Kidcat - Hope you are all feeling better today x

FTM - Hope litle Sam continues to make good progress x

Heavy snow here overnight so my Christmas shopping trip has been cancelled - today and tomorrow are my last days off before Christmas so I guess that I'll have to go to Plan B and do some online shopping
    :cool::cool:

The feral kittens are getting slightly less nervous - the boy seems happy enough moochiing about and little sis is starting to venture out of the utility room but is very timid. Picked the boy up last night and he's definately thriving in the warmth as he's acquired a nice soft round tum! Running out of cat food fast so hoping to get to the village to get more this afternoon .

    Take care out there everyone
