Don't know if anyone's mentioned it but Sammy has a thread going on the relationships board so maybe our support could be directed therein case she's more likely to see it. Hopefully they will work things out as they have done in the past.0

Thank you for all the kind thoughts.... On the positive my nephew has had two clear scans now, and my niece does not have to have chemo, thank god, they caught it very early thanks to my sister's prompt actions in getting her to a doctor quickly!! it has just been such a shock that she got her son out of the woods so to speak and had just got back on her feet and then this happens to her daughter, unbelievable.....
Been thinking lots about Sammy as we all have, relationships are soo challenging. Me and DH have been together 24 years this month married 22, but boy oh boy we had some rough times! I had my son aged 25 and then my daughter 4 years later, i had PND after she was born, I had to return to full time teaching when she was 14 weeks old, hubby was studying so i was breadwinner, it nearly killed me, and we had terrible patch where to be honest we were so tired out with two little ones we were horrid to one another. We decided to do everything to save the marriage and ended up going to Relate, we knew we loved each other but were just not communicating well at all. It worked for us, the counselling was good but ironically just as important was going out together even if it was to Relate lol, we used to have a quick drink before or after the session and i suppose it was a small bit of time stolen from our day to day life just for us. That was a long time ago and we have had various ups and downs over the years, he can still drive me to distraction at times but he is my best mate and i would not have got through the last three years without him.... very off topic i know....trying to think of a way to make it MSE ... erm saved a fortune in legal costs .....0 -
greent, are you my mum?! It's funny when I was young I used to think she was a right fuss pot but now we are so alike. I even get up on a freezing cold morning and open the window 'to let the air in' There's no escaping it!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hugs to all that need them, I've kissed a few frogs before I finally found my Mr Right and one or two were real toads so I know how hard it can be to keep hold of you sanity in the middle of it all but we all seem to be a pretty determined bunch on here so have faith in yourselves.
I've planted things out in all sorts of containers, Focus did green buckets last year (and I think this) for 99p which were a fab size for all sorts of things, toms, courgettes, salad leaves, carrots etc. My DD had formula in tins and I used these with holes in bottom for lots of smaller plants and herbs, if they must match why not get the paint out? That will brighten up the place no end.
Hippeechiq, forgot to say that I always make sure I've got other stuff to go in and out of the oven while it's on for that long so cakes, biscuits and any other oven type stuff for the freezer like lasagne. Then not only have I got dinner sorted for the next few days I've got snacks and lunchbox stuff sorted for the week and a few lazy day homemade ready meals in the freezer.0 -
Sammy,
Years ago I was in a similar situation. I was told to read a book called 'women who love too much'. It changed my life.0 -

I've just got that book from the library! I haven't read it yet, just finishing another book. So I don't know much about it but thought it might be a supportive read0 -

It changed my whole life not just my relationship, I would recommend it to all women.
It's more an attitude altering book.
So much of the 'empowering' stuff seems very agressive and that is just not my nature, but this approach was very different and had a huge impact on me.
It starts a little slow but it's well worth the time reading it.0
