(I didn't think pineapple would set in a jelly because of some enzyme... not sure)

Oh gosh Frugal - Actually you're quite right. I'd completely forgotten that. Pineapple DOESN'T set in jelly. It could be served in a trifle though.

Tinned pineapple works ok in a jelly, or it did in trifle for me last week. But fresh will never set.

My elder son was famous for weird words when he was wee. One day he told me his pal had "twinkles"... my horrible evil wee mind jumped to things like "scabies/nits etc and I shoved him in the bath with a pint of Dettol.
    Turned out he had "freckles"...:D
Then the day he came home from nursery and declared they had seen "a Pog". That stumped me until I found out they had tadpoles andddd

My wee bro had similiar words; bishhh was lemonade, gling, gling was a guitar, anemones were enemies.

evening all, its freezing tonight, icy gale force winds and crazy torrential rain.

Spent part of my day unblocking the drains outside, got rid of loads of gunk but still blocked. OH said he's going to have a go tomorrow. Its pitch black outside so can't do it now.

Been sorting stuff out in the house all day. hasn't been done for the past seven months. I know its really bad, but since i broke my knee cap i just couldn't do much.

So i sent OH with a car full of junk, old chairs, broken tables and general carp. House feels so much cleaner.

Had some news today, we might be moving house, not sure when, but i on a mass decluttering session.
Just spoke to landlady, she wants us to pay half towards getting the boiler serviced and under contract with british gas, as her landlord safety certifcate is due for renewal. She kept "you know its been a while since i put the rent up". Yet the house is a wreck and is steadily falling apart so ne and OH are not impressed.

So will have to see what happens.

Glad to see you back greent xx
  • Tell her to get stuffed Kezlou, its her responsibility to make sure its safe, does she get the electric check done?

Couldn't agree more, it's her role as the landlady to make sure the house is safe, you're not responsible for paying for the boiler. You pay rent which is meant to cover things like that. Don't pay it.
