    Morning all

apologies for my absence but I have been spending some much needed time with kiddie winks. Rarely seem to get any quality time with just me and both kids so have been using this holiday to its full advantage and getting lots of mummy cuddles. :D although presently today I have a poorly boy with some sort of stomach bug so hes cuddled in his duvet on the sofa, hollys asleep on her changing mat and fleece blanket on the floor and so I'm catching up with life at the minute.

Benjamin has decided he wants a traditional tree this year. He wants to make a special decoration for Hollys first christmas. :heartpuls so will see if i can find him some wooden shapes for him to decorate. He also wants to go pinecone collecting so he can spray them to decorate the tree with so we are going to have very much so a good life styled xmas tree with gingham ribbon instead of tinsel apparently.

As for me well Im alright - haven't spoken or seen HV since the holly is obese conversation. Babe is fine though and now attempting to roll over although cant quite get that final umph to get over.

My washign machine pump died so queue me flooding my kitchen on tuesday - luckily we got a man to come out on a free call out/estimate and then it cost us £70 to fix it :( but owen said we would go half so i wasn't left short so was ok. Have managed to pay most bills and have £30 left for food - Ive been strict with my spending so may use that £30 for xmas bits as we have enough in cupboards at the minute and I have another £50 budgeted aside for food shop but seeing as its not really needed at this precise time I have left it alone.

    Bargains of the week

picked up 2 microwave things for owen - one lasagne, one spaghetti for owen to take to work so he has a nice warm lunch - £1 each in iceland.

picked up 10 ginsters slices all reduced to 20p each)
(3 x peppered steak, 3 cheese and onion, 2 meat feast and 2 spicy chicken) and it came to the grand total of £1 as they were BOGOF too! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T so they are in freezer and next day had 3 steak and onion ginsters pies for 20p each so 60p in total and my freezer is now nice and full. so either owen can take them to work or he can have them as a meal with new pots and veg, or chips and peas. x

Also for Xmas got two Xmas mugs and two small packs of after 8 mints, going to put some hot chocolate sachets in them and wrap up nicely with a bow and mini whisk for Ben's teachers.

so feeling a bit happier about Xmas now - its always depresses me slightly in the build up but once December gets here ill be landed!

AM trying to think of a suitable use for milk boxes - I currently have 6 sat in a cupboard and am thinking of cleaning out/covering and filling them with something but what?? was thinking for my sister and mum a retro sweet tub each but stumped for the others. May need to get my thinking head on.

Apart from that I'm fine. Alive and kicking. Just hectic with kiddies. Oh god just realised Christmas is coming and it will soon be 'find a costume' time -- Ben never has normal costumes though!!! so far he has been a sheep, a cowboy! and an elf in his nativity plays!

hugs to all who need them, well done, congratulations and commiserations too just to cover all bases!!!!!

and thansk to FRUGAL for hunting me down on facebook! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Time to find me again

    I've been Money Tipped!
It's not an easy month here but the storecupboard is coming in handy this month as dh hasn't yet been paid by his new firm! Also got less than half pay from last job so pinching the pennies - those huge baking mixes from Big brands are going to come in handy! The baked beans are lovely, though sweeter than we are used to. Such a shame so much was missing from our order - seems a problem with their delivery firm but I did get a refund.

One good thing is a friend came and put up a curtain pole above the front door! Just a cheap white metal expanding one from argos (less than £10) I found a set of fully lined curtains (2 short ones for landing and 2 long ones for downstairs window and front door) ages ago on a charity stall for £10 and after a wash and iron they are looking lovely! The hallway was lovely and cosy this morning!:j The metal pole doesn't stick out as much as the wooden ones so the curtain is almost flat against the door and the pole is long enough for the curtain to be drawn back during the day! Can't believe how happy I am about this! lol:)

Oh dear better go as wm is making ominous noises!!!
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Wow, congrats for all the jobs, its good to hear some good news, and as for the feral kitties - great news - I found pilchards went along way to building trust when I was taming feral kitties!!

WEnt to Blackpool yesterday and dad insisted on eating in rather than take away - which is a nightmare with youngest son DS6 as he really doesnt do crowded places and gets very difficult to handle. Also (and this may sound petty) I had spent the afternoon buttering bread for everyone, packing drinks, snacks, plates, cutlery etc all for nothing.

Also discovered that DD16 borrowed my earphones a few weeks back because she had lost hers (she has had at least 5 pair since easter) she gave them back yesterday - broken!! Also turns out she had borrowed DS12 ipod earphones and returned them broken too!!! Have taken money out of her birthday money to replace them this time as I am fed up of the attitude towards them - she never looks after them.
  • Iam getting organised for Xmas. Went shopping yesterday and got loads. WHSmith has 25% off toys and I got my little girl her big pressies. I know Sainsburys had 50% off but it was total murder and I dont think they had the toys I wanted. Been quite productive this week OS wise, got thick curtains up in living room, had time to shop around for food shop, got 3 loads of washing dry on the line and broke the back of the Xmas shopping but got lots of bargains oh and got BOGOF paint for when I paint the dining room in the spring.

Got a totally fab bargain in a charity shop yesterday. Brand new leather brown boots from Oasis for £8. Fit fab and look lovely. Went into one charity shop and they wanted £45 for a cardy that looked like a dogs blanket! Presume it was some designer make but it wasnt familiar.
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

It must be a teenage girl thing. I have gone through about the same amount of earphones due to daughters 'borrowing mine'. I have taken the same tack. BUY YOUR OWN if you want to keep breaking them! I suspect that the ones they purchase themselves will be more lovingly cared for :D
