Thank you all for your support
I know it's hard for everyone at present, but it does just get me down when there are people I know who can't string a sentence together (on paper) who are getting interviews.
All of my applications have been online, so I haven't had the issue with paper applications, but I've taken note of what's been said.
Hopefully something will come along soon - otherwise I'll have to remain a kept woman! :rotfl:0 -

I don't know if this will be useful but when I was a Ward Manager the number of online applicants were far to many for a time strapped WM to sort through. One of the things we did was ask HR to close the vacancy after the first 15 applications so make sure you get in early.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Sorry, I haven't had much of a chance to read the boards this week...
Welcome to Annie56's fella!!!
??? Q. Does anybody know what time Aldi update their website on the supersix offer? Its not showing any offers tonight so I am guessing they are updating it. Sad as I am, I am looking forward to meal planning once I know what is on offer
Mum cooked me dinner after work tonight and where she would always have used chicken breasts in the past, she can't afford/wont pay the crazy prices for them so she made the meal (mediterranean chicken) with chicken legs! I got one chicken leg, sauce, rice and roasted vegetables and it was lovely - I very rarely buy breasts any more either (tend to get a whole chicken and put it in the SC and use for all sorts of meals) but will use legs and thighsApparently she paid something like £1.50 for 8 in Lidl... and they were good
Hope that helps someone0 -

I've been told that the NHS aren't allowed to close applications early any more, but who knows in this day and age.
I'm applying for more jobs this weekend, most of them in private healthcare, so I'm hoping I'll get something from this. I'm also going to chase an application I sent off earlier this week on Monday (private again) which is somewhere I had a placement at, so that might help.

I don't know when it updates Frugal but sometimes it just doesn't show them, I have tended to think it was an error on their site up until now. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Unfortunatley for applicants there are ways around this so the earlier you get your application in the better. Have you joined the nurse bank at your local hospital? This is a good way of getting your foot in the door. Our Trust is very good at providing preceptorship for newly qualified staff who are on the nurse bank and at this time of year some Trusts open extra beds due to winter bed pressures and need extra staff to provide patient care.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

HANG ON TO THEM!!! Put them away and when they have children of their own, they will LOVE them again... I know because I did the same. I am so glad my Mum kept mine and I am delighted that my children put the decorations that I made as a child, on our tree :j0 -

Thank you for taking the time to help
I have been offered bank where I'm on placement at the moment, but the interview was meant to be today, but the modern matron came and told us (my friend is there too) that he 'couldn't be bothered' to do the interview today and could we do it next week?
At least I know I do have that option. As for extra beds being available, I'm a mental health nurse, so winter bed pressures won't really affect us, although you do get more depression and suicide over Christmas, and families dumping their relatives on services because they can't cope with them over the festive season.
