Thanks Mike thats a good idea but only part of the need the other is when I go to Uganda it was there that my camera let me down big time in that I bought a new compact flash card in Schiphol as mine had mysteriously disappeared (thanks Teenagers ) and when I tried to use it realised it wouldn't work as it was too fast swopped it for an older one with an Ugandan lad only to find when I got home that his card had a virus and despite all attempts I lost over 200 pictures including ones of the sponsored children that were supposed to go to their sponsors :o not something you can just dash back and redo:mad:

    DTxx

I'd say that warranted 'an informal walkabout' when you discovered that!

I love that idea of making celebration earrings - maybe for the Olympics? Google often marks anniversaries with a special logo on its homepage.

    Haggis for Burns' Night?

Great thinking whoever came up with that approach. Direct marketing at its best.

  • Claire i noticed on FB a group called Mary-Beth Originals and she was selling some scrummy beads that have a great kitsch appeal. Ones shaped like sweets, or bisuits. Could be worth you having a nosey to see if they are something that appeals to you. I thought they would be quite cute as jewellery, and i was thinking in terms of myself some of them might look good as unusual buttons on my knitting.

Memorygirl I shared the link to your webpage on FB. I will try and do a bit more pointed prompt to it so that my teacher friends will notice it. Could you tailor it say for example if you were hired to do 25 kids from one school and do it for kids with learning problems, or those who were on the gifted and talented list maybe? I know my old school did a big push on mindmapping about 6 years ago, but the lady who had the training and led it in school since retired. I will mention it to my friend who is an asst headteacher when i see her. Might not be for a little while though as her daughter is due an op next week.

MG, I was chatting to DH about the possibility of sending our 2 on a course. He rightly said we wont have the money to do it this side of Christmas.

It's such a shame - if ever a child needed your help, its our DS, bless him (dyslexic/dyspraxic and currently being bullied for it). Fingers crossed we'll be able to sort something out in the new year :o

No you won't spud!!!! Which course works out best for your two? I am setting the intention now that we easily find all the other people to come to that date and then your two can come along as guests of the Matrix.

No-one's DS is going to be bullied for being dyslexic and dyspraxic - not when I AM TOO!!!!!!. After all why do you think I got into this line of work???

This is nothing other than "paying it forward", its the right thing to do.

Remember I am holding onto the intention that DS1 gets to South Africa this year to see his family - do you remember Firewalker telling me to promise my son that he will be going at some point?? I am holding onto that with all my heart.

Same for your two - they ARE comng on the course and the Matrix will find a way to make that happen............

    ....................won't you????:D:D

PS I shall expect a framed copy of his first school mindmap of course :rotfl:

Cetainly can hon - after all I have been in both of these classes in my time. In fact I was in both of these classes within the space of one term - when I discovered I could learn I got a little bit obsessive or a while :D

    OK - for about 25 years:rotfl::rotfl:

  • I'm wondering if i should just go straight to the HT and suggest you. I need to physically go into school anyway to get a form signed, so i guess i could say i know someone who helps kids get results. The only downside is they can say no as they don't have the funds, but i can ask.

    Think you need to add:

    Uppingham School
    Oakham School

    They are close by too.

Would it be an idea to show which dates have limited availability left on your website? May help those umming and aahing to make a decision quicker!
