Yay the head honcho's are freaked. Pity you can't bottle and copyright the Matrix MG. That would mean MG + Matrix = Millionaires, and we could all be share or stakeholders

MG - What break even numbers do you need for these venues to start making money - sorry if sounding too practical, but knowing where you need to increase numbers to increase profit can make you target the marketing.

Also do you need to charge more in the more expensive areas like the south east/london as costs of room rental likely to be higher.

Glad the first 24 hours have gone well for you MG - here's hoping that many more bookings come your way in the next hours.

@clairewop - loving the new additions to the site - I agree with the post about emailing people when new items are added - also I would suggest trying to put the new items near the top.

I think the stress/excitement has caught up with me and so I've had a very unproductive day - not much crossed off my to do list just a couple of books added to my read list - whoops.

I know this is not the normal you from reading your blog which is absolutely wonderful and I am not a big blog person normally except MG's of course :rotfl:but yours has everything :A

One off the wall question I love your photos what sort of camera do you use I need a new camera as mine that I spent a bomb on in the USA when digital cameras first came in ( no wonder I have loads of debt a sucker for new gadgets :o) is no longer up to the job and won't take new compact flash cards they are too fast :( I need a point and click (which I am sure yours isn't) as I am no expert but I want one that feels like a real camera not a micro camera I think by that one of my needs is one with a viewfinder to look through and not just a screen and a decent weight to it so if you or anyone else has any advice on the subject I would appreciate it - thank you that is my ask of the matrix today :D

Hi DT - sorry, I know this question was directed at Daffs but thought I'd lob my 2p worth in anyway! :o

Not knowing what your budget is makes it tricky, but the most important thing about a camera, any camera, is that it feels comfortable in your hand. If it's not, it won't be a pleasure to use, and will just end up sitting in a drawer. Try having a look at "Bridge cameras" - these are mid way between a compact and SLR camera, some have additional or interchangeable lenses, some don't, but they pretty much ball have a "real" viewfinder, the advantage of which is that you hold the camera to your eye to take a shot, which in turn adds stability and reduces the risk of camera shake. So - look online and see what the options are for that sort of camera within your chosen budget. Once you have a shortlist (say 4 - 5 different cameras over 3 - 4 brands) go to Jessops or similar and start handling them. You'll know the right one when you have it in your hands - (cameras are like wedding dresses, the right one for you will become blindingly obvious!). Once you've chosen, toddle home again and buy online, at the cheapest price, with as many free extras as you can find, and going via a cashback site! :rotfl:

    Have fun!

Sometimes you just need to take a break to let your brain catch up. My boss wound me up last night, so both last night and this morning (I had a lie in :o which I NEVER do) were unproductive. No gardening or housework done which is now annoying me, and I need to spend tonight catching up on the work I was distracted from by other peoples' inefficiencies yesterday.

However... I did go out to get some emergency additions to my travelling suit (3 one week and one 2 day trip in the next 5 weeks and only one suit that really packs well). For once I tried on the smaller size before the larger one and it fitted :j:j. So I celebrated by going for a run when I got home. Now I've recovered from that :p and am feeling positive from a read of this thread, I'm hoping the work will go well and I'll get back on track.

Great ideas Claire - if you aren't up to expanding the website into sections yet, don't worry about it, but do start keeping a record of your customers' email addresses and send out updates (no more than one a month, or it gets irritating) with details of new stock, or highlighting a particular range, or even giving a special offer (e.g. after christmas - christmas stock reduced, buy early for 2011 :p)

MG - so pleased to hear that your business gurus are being shown how things can be done :D
