    Hi MG

What a wonderful post you made yesterday - so much makes me feel inspired on this thread. So many of us from Matrix/MDAM have made incredible progress in the last few months, if not financially or in terms of work, then definitely in terms of having a good old think about how to live our lives differently.

It was lovely to hear about your successes Souk and Cheery Daff - just because it has taken longer than you hoped doesn't diminish that feeling of elation and pride you will feel when you're awarded your PhD. The fact that you have not given up and put so much extra energy into your work should be a source of additional joyfulness. You could have caved, but you didn't. Cheery Daff will become Dr. Daff very soon :D

MG I like your website - is there any way that the bigger mind maps could be clearer so that it's possible to read even the smaller words? I think it might be a matter of getting your web angel to recompress those jpegs. I also think it's helpful to unpack the 'student' target audience a bit. Will it be equally suitable for young people doing GCSE as mature students undertaking learning again for the first time in a while? It would be wonderful if people could read the text and think "yes, that's me". I wondered if it's possible to use your logo to set the tone for the design, perhaps using turquoise in the text somewhere? If you decide to go on and expand the website there are some lovely stories in there that I'd certainly be keen to read more about, such as the work you did with that school to improve results. I can imagine that as a lovely case study with a picture of the young people and a more journalistic blurb about it.

    HUGE (((hugs)))

sorry - I did'nt mean it sarcastically, I think what Demi meant was sort of sparkly and shiny and pink, that 8/9 year olds like wearing to emulate a princess. Disney princesses are her thing, along with ponies and JLS lol

Oooh and tiara's both for kids and bridal.

What about sports, lots of football fans etc., and especially what about the Olympic sports with 2012 coming up, just watch out for their tight controls on refering to it due to them selling the rights to use it. But lots of people have sporty or musical kids, so things with musical links or sporty links could sell well.

I didn't see it as sarcastic, I saw it as being set a challenge, which is what I need at the moment.

will definatly have a go at pink and sparkly tomorrow, then Demi can give me her opinion :)

Tiaras I have tried, but I think there is a need for two proper working hand for those :( I just got all the wire in a knot and everything was a right mess :(*

  • Claire, I'd definitely think of a few prom dress themes like someone said earlier.
    For example:
    * Hollywood glamour (could coincide with the oscars)
    * Pretty in pink (summer ball/ cinderella theme)
    * Winter wonderland - lots of sparkly things around xmas time
    * Beach party - bright stuff for summer dresses

Have a look at OPI nail varnish range - I know this is a bit from left field but they do "seasonal" collections and themes really well without being novelty.

    Hi again everyone

Wow! Fab homepage MG - not had chance to go through it properly but you should have my e-mail reserving a place and offering any help I can

MG - could I ask where the old homepage / challenge is? I was copying and pasting the challenge as am following at a different pace and I don't have all the challenges :(

Cheery - your PHD will be fab. I understand it's hard now but as you know it will be so worth it once you've handed it in. You are right that your PHD takes priority now, it made me think of a mesage from Mr Big to MG early on about offering help to others once you are in a position of strength which is exactly what you'll be doing.

KC - green products, I would want the comparison of the effectiveness of the product against other leaders in the market. I would also want to know the measurability ? of the green product carbon footprint? - is it greenly produced, distributed, use etc. and compare this against other leaders also. This would be something I personally, would like to see on a graph - I guess like you see on new fridges and then more in depth info available if I want this.

Claire - I think the set you made earlier is stunning. I guess for your website have more things which are not tied to a season and keep introducing these - as with todays which I think is lovely for any time of year and then bring out the seasonal things just as we get towards that time of year, like you have with halloween, xmas, etc. That way if someone is visiting the site for a seasonal item they will see your new and updated products and those who visit anyway will be aware that you do introduce new things. Gosh! Long post hope it makes sense ?
Other ideas would be maybe some testimonials - I am happy to do one after receiving my ear-rings which I have finally managed to pay for :o Your pictures are very clear but maybe it would help like e-bay has feedback so testimonials to say how the item was just as it was pictured, beautifully packed and posted promptly. I have quickly looked at your web-site for feedback but didn't see it so sorry if you already have this. Oh you can send me a poster or two too to advertise for you :D
