Just got an email from a mentor asking if he can do tonight instead of tomorrow morning.

He wants to work through "building a referral business" - OMG!!!! there's like twenty people on this thread that would love to sit in on this session.:j:j:j

I'm off to feed the kids early and then clear the decks to make some super powerful notes on a mind Map - back soon

Just give us a detailed feedback - possibly on the Forum. Sorry to hear not feeling well - I am not feeling well either (blocked nose) and neither is my finish co-author and friend (throat). Bad - still managed almost a full days work but not easy.

Referral business  bit similar to relationship marketing
but instead of the Pareto 80/20 you have your closing ratio for non-qualified leads is 10 percent versus a 60 percent close ratio with referred leads. And it cuts out the hassle of cold-calling prospective clients.

Oooh!!! I like the idea of that.

ONe of the pieces of work I got today because the lass that runs the office was on a course I ran AT HER SCHOOL eleven years ago.

She credits that day for getting her back interested in learning, off to Uni and into her great job.

She did call me "Miss" though - which made me feel ancient .......... although not as ancient as if she' called me "Madam" I spose :rotfl::rotfl:

Felt like saying "have you not read the Matrix thread??? Apparently I look much younger than my photie!!!!;)

You think the 'Madam' bit is bad? I have been also called 'Sir' by a Japanese student. I was very puzzled thinking that I should do something about this moustache finally. Then it transpired that Sensei in Japanese is not gendered - what a relief.

  • Chinese and Japanese people often confuse 'him' and 'her' and use them interchangeably, I suppose that's why!

    Congrats on theplans MG!

Just lurking on here from time to time is having an effect on me!!!:j

I found myself ordering "The Secret" from Amazon a week or two ago and discovered I had been unconsciously doing quite a few things the book suggested. In fact, the house we bought a couple of months ago is one I saw being built over ten years ago and thought at the time how lovely it was and how I would love to live there.

I found myself "ordering" a healthy happy body after reading the book and have started low carbing and feel much better for it. I also thought how much I would love DD to have a job that she really loves and is proper grad training with prospects instead of the termp one she is in now.

A letter just got redirected to new house for DD - the grad job she applied for ages ago and had given up on now says she is on their short list!!!

Had a productive day today but still fell like i am swimming up stream!

    My TADA list;
    Cleared and sorted craft cupboard
Cleared and re organised "stuff" that had been piled around cupboard
    Hoovered and dusted general area
Two bags of rubbish (inc lots of recycling)
    bag to charity

Looks much better now, and the house is generally looking so much better (from all general work/decluttering/organising over last 2 months).

Would appreciate some opinions on the following though, please ladies. My sons reading book today has an odd theme, it's a oxford reading tree called "rotten apples".
Basically the premise of the story is girl helps mum tidy garden by clearing some rotten apples. These rotten apples get put out by the rubbish bins, rag and bone man visits with horse, horse eats all rotten apples, horse then ends up drunk and passes out and people in the village all come to laugh at him and whilst there buy all the stuff off the rag and bone man.

Bear in mind my son is 5! He is also very curious and will pick up on the drunk thing and want to know all about it.
It worries me that being drunk is made light of with people coming to see the horse as "entertainment" or am i totally over reacting?

    Sorry for long post!

Alison: I don't think you are over reacting - everything about that book appals me. The title "Rotten Apples" and what that implies:eek: Putting things like food out for the rubbish and then everyone laughing about Drunk:eek: All aimed at 5 year olds. Sorry for the rant but just what messages are our children getting.

    **slopes in **

Hi guys, sorry I have not kept up to speed with things. Hope everyone is ok, hugs to those that need them, and apologies for the lack of support from my end.

    **slopes back out**

Ummmm, I think you have plenty to do without trying to support us too :rotfl: Come back when you have moved house!!!!! Or should that be after you have settled in ;) lol
Oooh!! that remnds me of my Gran's.

She had this ancient pot and wire basket - it was always kept full of beef dripping and used to make the most fabulous chips ever.

My mouth is watering just remembering..............

...........ooh I hope memories don't have calories :rotfl:

    MG

Drooling here now - they really were the best chips ever. But I can't tell you how often the flippin thing over heated :( Not sure I would be happy to have one with wee ones in the house, I am sure a Deep Fat Fryer will be far safer.
