Have you played around with the settings? I think the default goal is set to a 1.5lb a week loss. You can change it to something else (eg 0.5lb a week loss) which may allow you a higher number but obviously a slower loss. I'm around 1400 cals now I think, but am struggling too as I seem to go over by ~100cals on days I'm not skating. I think I'm just going to set mine to 1500 cals and accept that the weight loss will slow a bit over time. I'd rather it take me longer to loose the next 5 stones than fall off the wagon altogether! :)

I think mine came up with 0.8lb a week with 1200 calories. To be honest I think what I really need to do is reduce my portions and get a bit more exercise - focussing too much on food seems to make me hungrier.. and not very happy!

How about calling the thread TADA ?
  • How about "The Matrix - people to the power of 15" as a nod to the 15 minute thing?

Pah to stupid throats MG - make sure you take ALL your antibiotics! :D Poor kidlets too :( I'm sat here wrapped up and shivering and feeling very sorry for myself too, so can sympathise.

Well done on the keynote and the potential stuff at the university though, that's brilliant! :j :j

Just got an email from a mentor asking if he can do tonight instead of tomorrow morning.

He wants to work through "building a referral business" - OMG!!!! there's like twenty people on this thread that would love to sit in on this session.:j:j:j

I'm off to feed the kids early and then clear the decks to make some super powerful notes on a mind Map - back soon

Referral business  bit similar to relationship marketing
but instead of the Pareto 80/20 you have your closing ratio for non-qualified leads is 10 percent versus a 60 percent close ratio with referred leads. And it cuts out the hassle of cold-calling prospective clients.

Great news re the keynote MG, and well done on your bargains. Commiserations to you and Cheery Daff re sore throats and lurgy. Keep warm and cosy.

Today I have a short but satisfying tada list:

Decluttered the Open University application, ILA application and supporting paperwork into an envelope and posted off.

Met a dear friend for lunch and gave her her birthday present - one less thing awaiting delivery.

I had, would you believe, 4 address books! How mad is that. It was driving me crackers but until today I hadn't addressed the issue (pun intended).

I've been through them all and I now have just one, with the entries in pencil so I can easily update them. Getting this done might seem a small task but to me is a major achievement - no more reminders of temps perdu, which is good and healthy I think.

The declutter continues tonight with parcels to be packed, then posted off tomorrow. Then I can sort out local Christmas gifts, wrap them and put them away till Christmas. I am not usually as organised so early on but it will help me feel more in control.

When all that is done I may be able to reclaim my second sofa which is barely visible under the clutter: everything on it is something that needs dealt with.

My week's annual leave has felt like a good mix of getting things done and socialising, nice to have that balance and to see results too. I've promised myself a trip to the local charity shop tomorrow with 2 more bags. They will get filled tomorrow, I haven't started on them just yet!

MG it was a trip down memory lane driving through your town and I have particularly happy memories of brilliant bargains from the Red Cross shop. Used to take my girls to a wee cottage in the East Neuk for their summer hols, and for several years in a row, had a day in your town and always made a beeline for the Red Cross shop - can still remember a fab cardi I bought there which was a wardrobe staple for years! Wore it out, but I wish I still had it.
