Claire: Poor you! I don't think Tuesdays are your day! I agree with Alison, do a test patch. I've never had any problem with it. You could just put neat bleach on a damp cloth and just wipe it. You should be ok.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Claire, I have mould and damp and everyone swears by the Dettol Mould and Mildrew spray, my friend uses it twice a year and reckons it does the trick. It's not as harsh as bleach but it does the trick on the mould spores. Got to be worth a try... I got some yesterday but haven't used it yet.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

Thought you might like to know about another daily dose of positivity which gets delivered to my inbox Monday-Friday. It's Mike Dooley's Notes From the Universe. Mike was one of the contributors to The Secret.
It's less serious than Ralph Marston's Daily Motivator but can be just as inspirational and can be quite quirky and humorous, and often the nugget of truth within the message helps me think differently about myself/others/situations. At the very least, makes me smile.
There is a certain amount of personalisation which you set up to receive the daily notes, which is quite nice. For example, your name gets inserted within the text, and you can choose something you really want to receive as a goal (mine was optimum health). So every so often that will be mentioned within one of the daily notes.
If you want to subscribe, his website is
http://www.tut.com/theclub/
He has an Adventurer's Club and also there is an option just to receive the daily notes without joining the club.

I've paid for the course but have had no confirmation its been received (or any venue details) as yet which unnerves me a little.
As you can see I probably need this mind mapping more than mostas I can't even remember when the course is!
On November 27th in Beaver Road Primary School (Didsbury). All is well and the day will be going on as planned (I suppose). Mr. F will put the venue on the website.

Well what small things made you smile recently?
Yesterday I saw a flash of bright green outside the hotel room window, thought it looked familiar, checked and there's a colony of rose necked parakeets in the city, just like in London. OK they're a non-native species, but against a dull city landscape to suddenly seeing flashes of energy and light made me smile.0 -
Claire - and from there your day is going to improve. Remember - negative thinking attracts negativity - and although somewhat sceptical about The Secret as a "miracle book" I can see the logic in that - if you expect bad things to happen, then the small stuff that happens that maybe isn't great seems like a major disaster, and serves to drag you down still further.
MG & Daffs - I hope you both feel better soon - my cold has spent the last week and a half trying to turn to tonsilitis but at the moment I'm being successful in telling it that it can't. Fingers crossed that trick continues to work as when I do get that particular lurgy it does tend to hit me rather hard (I've twice nearly been hospitalised as a result!). Remember to try to drink little and very often - even a sip every few minutes will help stop your throat drying out, which is when the pain is at its worst. If you can bear to drink fruit juice then the acids in it will do your throat good - it'll sting though! Also the over the counter throat sweets with the antibacterial & anaesthetic ingredients are excellent - they help keep your throat lubricated, deaden the pain a little and if the anti-bac ingredients work as well that's just a bonus!
Boddy - I hope you're coping as well as possible in the circumstances - I think I can safely say that thoughts are still going your way from the majority of us on this thread.
Had to be up & at 'em early this morning as I'm waiting for my Avon order to arrive - Mum's coming over in a while to help me sort it out but it needs to arrive first! I was hoping that I might be one of the early deliveries but it seems not - I just hope it's not going to be too late as I don't want it to always tie my whole day up! As a result though I have had a bit of a TADA morning so far:
Front room tidied a bit
Black sack of rubbish gathered together ready to go out a little later, Bathroom S&S'd
Ciabatta bread mixed and now sitting in the airing cupboard rising
Hair washed
Cat sick cleaned up (Nice eh? I think I'd rather have Claire's vase of flowers & water!) - she's eaten a little bit since and now seems fine so I guess it was just one of those things.
Washing out of machine and onto airer
Washing up done
Mirror and a couple of windows cleaned / wiped clear of condensation, Quidco & Pigsback clicks done and a pigsback voucher ordered as I had won another quiz so amassed enough points again
Avon order that had come through by email input onto system & online offers checked

Morning all!
So sorry to hear about the loss of Mums. I don't think you ever get over it; I know my Mum (in her 80s) still sometimes says she wishes her Mum were here so she could tell her about what's going on. Thinking of you.
InaPickle are you sorted now? If not you can send the shirt to me and I'll take it at the weekend.
Claire hope things are getting better. The black stuff is mildew, we used to get this in our last house wherever things hadn't been moved for a while against an outside wall. It should mostly come off with some sort of mildew treatment but it does have a tendency to come back IMO. Now in an older, colder house we don't get it.
Yesterday chatting to a friend I suddenly worked out what we could do to this house to make it just the way I want it (have only lived here 3 years :rotfl: but the things I've considered before can't be done due to weight-bearing walls etc). Now this idea would only involve partially rebuilding half the downstairsDoesn't look like it'll happen unless I get a win on the Premium Bonds and can afford to move out for 6 months!
Talking of memory issues; last night I was just settling down to sleep when I suddenly had a horrid thought that perhaps the work I thought was due at 5-30pm today might have been due at 5-30am instead (overseas customer) so I got up and turned the PC on to check, and in fact it was 5-30pm but since by then I was awake again and at my desk I thought I may as well finish it while I had some peace, so ended up working until 3-30am . At least now I have a head-start on the day but may need to have an afternoon nap!
Haven't had a chance to try the new Matrix site yet so will go there now and see if I can get in - fingers crossed!0 -

IMHO a wedding is private. The last thing I'd want is the whole of the nation "there".
If you're happy with someone, why spoil it by getting married - I fear they've been pushed into it.0
