Here's a nice website which I use for a daily dose of encouragement and positivity - there is a new message each day. Today's is good for those of us who are frustrated with ourselves and want our baby steps to be bigger and faster!

You can have a look back at other entries by clicking just below Ralph Marston's signature at the end of the day's message. Ralph has kept me going through the rigours and stresses of the past 4 years, his messages are all positive and universal.

ETA Some of the slide shows on the rhs of his website are absolutely beautiful.

Yay. Groatie Queen that you made it, see you soon in other forum

    from Groatie's quoted site
Give yourself a rest every so often, but don't give yourself an excuse to give up. Remember why you started in the first place, and recommit yourself to getting it done.
Instead of fighting and striving and struggling to get it done, take a moment to take a deep breath and to smile a genuine smile. Take control of your own attitude, and choose to enjoy the work you're doing.
Rather than resenting what you must do, celebrate what you have the opportunity to achieve. Reward yourself for your discipline and persistence by feeling truly good about what you're able to get accomplished.
With every effort, you are creating new value. With every moment, you are moving closer to the goal, and rewarding yourself along the way. -- Ralph Marston

  • I am back from Leeds but boy I am tired it has been one long day - but I do know the fifteen founding members of the EU in alphabetical order :T:T:T:T and a pin numberfor the national theatre but not the french mentors credit card number unfortunately:(

Met some very interesting and nice MSE people and some MSE children a very good day even got to get a cuddle which I have missed from a very cute little chap :D - day ended with lovely cake which I am not allowed to eat  but they seemed to go down well

Met two friends of MG one of whom was very funny and interesting especially if you want to know pi to 22500 decimal places :rotfl::rotfl:

I am sure the others will be on to tell you all about it I need to go and eat something

    DTxx

and MG was pretty good too and looks younger than her picture:):):):)

Yep, we are back as well. Had a great day and it was lovely to meet some of the Matrix people. We also still remember all that DT mentioned (although I am ever so slightly drunk - we went straight to a birthday party). MG is really good - and the course is much more pewerful than the book. Also, she comes alive when she talks about memory stuff and mind maps - so it can't be wrong.

    Now off to bed.

  • Had a lovely time in Leeds and can still remember most of the day, which is a huge step forward for me, Still have very cold feet though,:( should have worn socks

Met some great MSE people and came home with a boot full of football shirts from various people which I will now endeavour to get to the collection point.

Was not as disciplined as DT and did have some lovely delicious cake - it was worth the hiccup in my fifty day challenge that will surely follow :rotfl:

MG is just as inspirational in the flesh - and her friends have a wicked sense of humour.

After a late night and an early start think that I had better head for bed or will be useless tomorrow. Will catch up more then.

    I'm back too :D

Had a lovely day, and special thanks to Firewalker for helping my mindmapping :D Had a lovely old time (I too remember all the 15 founder countries of the EU - although when proudly telling Mr Daffs earlier I realised I'd missed out the Netherlands! Pah! :rotfl:). And those cakes! :T :T Utterly marvellous - especially the orange drizzle and chocolate one - mmmmm

I'm afraid I dashed off earlier than everyone else :o (after arriving late too! :o Oh dear! :o) - and took the opportunity to sneak into Bravissimo :D:D:D 30G, nicely kitted, out, fabulous experience, took all of about 30 seconds :D :rotfl:

Then took the two I'd bought on the internet back to La Senza, they were quiet, so got them to fit me properly, and replaced the two I'd bought with two in the right size (34G in there - but they do fit!). However, the white one wasn't in stock, and having told me upstairs they'd post it to me, the woman downstairs tried to tell me I'd have to pay another £3.45 for the privilege! I was very brave and stood my ground - I've already paid once, made a special trip to the shop so I didn't have to pay postage, there isn't a shop in my home town, blah blah - and she's posting it to me for free :D

So - altogether, a VERY successful day! :T

(just wanted to say a little tiny apology though to those there - normally I'm far more lively than I was today - little bit under the weather and hormonal, and felt just a little bit quiet :o)

Fingers still crossed for Winky too! :D

Hi all, we're back too, my girls did the day course, I went off shopping :D...

Can I just say...and this is really from the heart, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, today was special for so many reasons.

In no particular order it was special because,

I met some amazing 'friends' today, connected through a chance (?;)) wafting through threads when I happened upon MG's MDAM and whoosh, fast forward to today where MG presented her first Mindmapping session. So lovely to meet you ladies and gentlemen, hope to see you, converse and connect with you and many others very soon.

Secondly both my girls have not stopped enthusing about the stuff they've learned today, they had a great time and I exaggerate not when I say that this is the first time in a very long while that my eldest is motivated, keen and finding some direction....at last...this in itself is priceless.
I met her in the car park and she said 'Mum, this course is brilliant, I finally feel that I can achieve something, I wish I'd have done this two weeks ago...before I left college because I wouldn't have left'.

No matter because she's now got confidence in her abilities and she'll find a new direction, I'm convinced.;)

I also managed to declutter some cookery books which are happily redistributed to new homes, double win and a massive help on my 50 day challenge.

Thank you also for the lovely cake too, much appreciated.

MG, you go get 'em girl, you are an amazing teacher and so inspiring..my youngest is mindmapping at the mo...the theme TODAY...because she doesn't want to forget it and her centre piece is a brain with a huge open eye in it as that is what she feels has happened for her today....that her brain has opened its eye right up.

I've decided to put myself through MG's mindmapping and will be booking a place asap. I should have gone today but I felt my Lyme damaged brain wouldn't be applicable...luckily MG taught me this is not so.

Hope everyone got home safely and to all Matrix members and associated 'friends' we haven't met yet, a huge :hello: to all of you.x
