Greenbee and MG and others that struggle to 'sell themselves' would this idea help?

Imagine yourself on tv, presenting your very finest performance ever, articulate, confident and oozing with charisma....your words are flowing, just pouring out of your mouth....

I'm watching that same tv and want to know more so I ask you to describe her.

Now I'm asking you about her, that person, i.e. YOU on the tv, I'm asking these questions,

    Who is she?

    What does she do?

    How does she do it?

    Why is she an expert?

    How can she help me?

How do I access her services?

What else do I need to know about her expertise?

Now answer all those questions about you on the imaginary tv and then tweak your script and away you go....

Now get out there and SELL YOURSELF....obviously not in the biblical sense.:D x

    Well done EH:j:j

Today I went to the parent teacher meeting and turns out DD1 is doing pretty darn good. She's catching up more and more as the months go by. I think the teachers remark that if she doesnt work harder she will get left behind was meant that she will get behind that day, not overall.

Anyway he was showing me her english book and what was in it .... A mind map!! OH was well impressed that I already had Mg's book and I think the teacher was quite impressed that I knew what a mind map was!

So I told DD that I saw her mind map and her reply, 'Yeah they're easy to do.':rotfl: Kids, you gotts love em.

Feeling much more positive today and am proud to bits of my darling daughter.:heartsmil
So pleased to hear that caz :T:T

Sounds like you need to start thinking about how to go about it then... you'd better shift over to the matrix forum and see whether you can get some advice over there :D

Fantastic quotes, fantasia - thank you!

We are finding all sorts of links between each other aren't we, it is so good. For example, when Triker said she had found an expert doctor for her lyme disease I realised it must be the same person I am with for another rare condition - and yes, bingo! In the whole of the UK that is quite something.

Unfortunately Kits for Kids is not getting the energy from me that I would like to give because I'm in a prolonged dip just now, with no way of knowing when I'll come up for air. I had 3 days away in Sept, the first break for 4 years - but it was too ambitious for where I am with treatment. Ah well, lesson learned and all that.

My priority has to be managing my health in order to continue to work part-time - as a single person I need to pay the bills and also pay for, and cope with the (non NHS) treatment.

But I have much to be grateful for and the forthcoming OU course will help deal with the cabin fever! And in the meantime here I am happy to chip in when appropriate.

Well done EH on your good news, and MG, no disrespect to anyone working in Tesco's but there is a world out there who needs your particular talents - so go get 'em girl!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Thanks guys... I know this was aimed at MG, but it is just what I needed to see to help me deal with my presentation stress. I know that I know my subject, and I'm passionate about it. I have a reasonable speaking voice (luckily for me, the more stressed I am the lower it gets, rather than getting high pitched... OH finds it very sexy which can be a problem if we're presenting together :p), know that I put plenty of expression into my presenting (I'm so glad I did all those reading prizes at school, and drama, and reading in school assemblies and church... the only problem being that I really don't need a microphone :o), I move around a lot on stage, wave my arms and when I'm doing workshops I do lots of listening (well, I might as well make someone else do the work and rest my own voice!).

Can someone just teach me how to talk people out of their bank details? :D

I feel LOADS better now :) so I'm off to ruin someone else's day be reviewing their work

I don't see that as a problem. I loathe presentations where the speaker mumbles and you can't hear them. Loud and proud - bit like me when I've had a wee tipple ;)
I am :D at the thought I might have helped you.

I was enthusing to a friend today about mind maps, she's 3 months pregnant with her 3rd child, exhausted and has an exam next week that she feels totally unprepared for. She's done the revision but lacks the confidence of her abilities. Cue me wittering on about the Secret and attracting negative thoughts and mind maps for her revision :o I fear I come across a leeeeeetle too evangelical :rotfl:

I am interested in becoming an offical Matrix member but I am worried that I might not have the same amount of time to commit to it as some of you :o Am I being daft cos you're all so lovely here :o
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife :D Louise Brooks
