Sounds good MG.
I have always believed that "you" are what is saleable and tbh I never really "felt" that from your web-site.
Don't disregard your "ramblings" either - they "touch" people - otherwise why would we still be here reading, wanting to know what is happening to you.

It's funny you are hanging back on the marketing front because you always seem so much more of a 'go-getter' than the rest of us, not afraid of asking people and as you say really successful at getting people to play along. There has to be a way to get around the 'phonophobia'!
That was my cue to PM MG with the personal contact details of the friend who is development director of a marketing company. I gave him the heads up to MG's website and he got straight back to me with 'No problem'.
The telephone is a fantastic marketing tool, I did it for 2.75 years and was good at it, but I hated the product that was being marketed so I walked:eek:.
It works for some, not for others.
Its ok to have 'wobbles' MG, its a big step you've taken, and I agree with Thrifty, its 'you' that is 'marketable'.
You've kept the whole Matrix enthralled and inspired, given a lot of us courage (me particularly) just from following the thread. And not just the Matrix but the people who follow silently and then pop out of lurkdom and join.
But as for working in Tesco's, (not that there is anything wrong with that as a job) I say 'pah'. The Universe has other plans for you my girl. Hiccups and wobbles will test you, but they'll only serve in the end to make you stronger I'm sure. ((((Hugs))))0 -

I second this. What sounds like ramblings to you inspires me - I don't like too slick sales marketing I tend to find it a off putting (cynic moi?!) but someone speaking about their craft with passion is a whole different matter.
I agree that Youtube and video is a good way to goI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Excellent work MG! :T And good on those cheery mentors for getting you to play to your strengths
Everyone's right - you don't *have* to sell yourself by slick advertising means! Do it the best way that works for you! :j
Sorry to hear you've been having a bit of a meltdown the last few days - not surprised with all the nonsense that's been going on with the school! But hope you're starting to get back on track a little now :j0 -
I so sympathise with not wanting to phone - probably my least favourite activity!
I think using your contacts to make videos is a fantastic idea - it'll sell 'you' so much better if people can see what you do and how you areDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
MG I went and had another look at your website and I agree it doesn't really give the flavour of who you are. First thing is to put a video on there I think and not too far dwon - otherwise people will stop scrolling before they get there.
And it might be an idea to delete the reference to Kits for Kids - once the date has passed it looks as if the website is not being actively maintained - sorry, don't mean to be picky but small things matter when you are trying to build trustIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

Getting back to K4K for a minute, have we an agreed deadline that we are aiming for, or a central collection point yet? Also is there any kind of running total of what we have collected so far? I can see the FB page but it would be easier if I didn't have to get a calculator out, and in any case the updates don't always include kit other than shirts.0 -

OK, I'm just on here procrastinating. I have to get some work done as I'm travelling again next week. Luckily I'm doing workshops and client meetings, so I don't really need to prepare, but I have to admit I'm worrying about the following week when I have to present my own stuff as I haven't put any effort into rehearsing yetHowever, I have more important things to deal with, as OH is having a difficult time dealing with his ex and his kids, and needs my support, so for once we're both ignoring our workaholic tendencies and focussing on what really matters...
