MG hasn't mentioned the Mentors for a bit, again this issue with the Montessori school is major atm because its her ds1's future and she has more than a vested interest IYSWIM. She is trying to channel all her energies in so many directions ATM. I have no doubt that she will win through, but as has been said, I too hope she is ok.
She knows we will worry, and am positive she'll be in touch as soon as she can. Again no news is good news.0 -
EssexHebridean wrote: »Crafty - I concur heartily with what others have said re your friend - don't let this minor irritation slide, otherwise it WILL disrupt the friendship in time. I will probably regret for the rest of my life letting this situation develop with a very good friend of mine. We now no longer speak and I miss her an incredible amount. And no, before anyone says it, there is no way back at this stage, I am hopeful there may be in the future.
Perhaps when you talk to her about it make reference to the situation in which you had the original conversation about the holiday - so something like "I thought when we discussed it at the coffee shop / when I was round at yours / when we were out shopping for your shoes for xx event, we agreed that we were going to give this one a miss as neither of us were too bothered about going to xx?" - that way you make it harder for her to make it appear that you have misunderstood.
Perfect form of words, thank you. I do have to make sure I stress "we agreed".fantasia322 wrote: »Trying to find the right words here to express what I mean but without being overbearing. Erm ok, here go's.
You friend is most likely the sweetest person in the world, and judging by your post, it sounds as though she is used to people going alongwith her suggestions, e.g. following her lead. it also sounds as though no one has ever taken her gently to task for the constant mind changing.
It would appear though that a pattern has been established, but if you constantly accept what she does and just go with the flow it 'enables' her to continue in this vein. My guess is that she does'nt even realise she does it.
You sound like an amazing friend to have craftyscholar, but perhaps this is the Universe telling you to put yourself and your own goals 1st for once, because if this lady is a real friend then she will understand.
I hope this has come across the right way. there is no offnce intended honestly:DAnyway I asked here because I knew you lot would talk straight.
Yes it is a pattern - mainly because she is one of life's organisers who can always find a solution to a problem, while I get in a spin and can't see a way round.
So there have usually been good reasons for following her lead - just maybe I do it too often.0 -

Just saw this post by Tim Atkinson on fb - You can have anything you want if you want it desperately enough. The Universe is trying to tell me something and am not sure what?
Firstly, the curtain saga this morning.:mad:Have been waiting all day for phone call from Agos to arrange home delivery for my old ladies house:mad::mad:
Now, just found out the money I paid into Post Office last week in time for it to get to my bank for SO yesterday, didn't get there in time and have been charged £20 for the privilage. Bank won't play.
What's upset me most about this is the charges swallowed up the extra that I was going to transfer into my buffer zone.:mad:
Off to sew rag dolly now for Christmas present.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
