    Morning all

Busy day for me but didn't want to read and run!

Dirtyepic - can you start a memory box? buy cards for birthdays and christmas, little gifts, write letters or a journal about the things that are happening in your life that you would have shared with them, letters telling them that you love them and are missing them (not really 'deep' emotional ones) so that the day they come back into your life (and they WILL) you can demonstrate to them how important they have remained to you. Would you other sister pass on photographs to you and keep you updated on their progress?

    Laters

I think this is such a lovely idea and could be used for all sorts of situations......

MG I get exhausted just reading your plans

    Me to :D
First and most important is number one, YOU. Take care of you and forget everyone else until you feel up to it. I don't believe 'family is family' although I've had many a debate with friends about that.... Good luck and look after yourself :)

So many of us should listed to this, taking care of YOU is very important (must pay attention to that myself :rotfl:)

I think family is family to those of us that have half decent families with just the normal day to day traumas. I can quite understand how you can believe family is not family when you have been through some of the awful situations many of you have. There are also those of us who have already lost so many (7 children, 3 alive & parents both dead) that we cling to the family we do have and sometimes have to put up with cr*p that goes with it!

MG - Just listening to that link, he has the sort of soothing calm voice that Gerry Robinson the business guru has. I could listen to those sort of voices all day :T

Exactly, i think thats why they say you can CHOOSE your friends, but not your family etc., and people always counteract it with 'blood is thicker than water' It factually may well be) but that does not mean that it erradicates 'family' negativity.

I had moan to her last night about how I hadn't heard what was going to be happening with the school - apparently the HT was making her decision yesterday, but still no news.

MG, can I just ask why it it is the HT's decision what happens with the school. I'm not sure how Montessori works, but isnt whether a school opens or not or on time, down to the Board, especially if this HT has been putting people off by having her OH around all the time. Not very professional to say the least?

She started the school some years ago - and although it is now a registered charity she has always been the driving force behind it.

She has always paid lip service to creating something sustainable - but now that 2 of her children are in the upper age limit I think she's not so bothered now.

Time for a big shake-up and to find someone who truly wants to create a resource for the kids still to come I think.

    Good afternoon.

Been up since silly o'clock to go to a clearance sale :) managed to get a lovely pine cabinet for the bathroom, for £10 instead of £30 :) got it home put it together and its too big, so Dh has got his saw out and cut it down, We now have 2 units for the price of one :).

We also got a mini oven for £10 for dh to use in work, plus a battery charger 2x 2switch dimmer light things in chrome £1 each (B&Q wanted £10..99 each :)) a new measuring jug, and a huge clothes airer, cause the curtain pole is coming off the wall :( all in all everything cost £35 :)

My next door neighbour went (i watched the kids) and got a breadmaker, a carry harness and a huge bin plus more for £35 too the harness in somewhere is £100

So not much else has been done today :) but the house is coming along nicely :)
