clairewop - easypeesy growing is perpetual spinach, mixed salad leaves ( on the windersill if cold otherwise outside), at the right time definately courgettes, rhubarb is good (but don't pick in the first year), otherwise all year round you can sprout beans (very nutritious).

Other than that the best thing is fresh herbs, far better than dried etc..

MIL does well with new potatoes in buckets/tubs, so far better tasting than the shops.

Other things can depend on the area and the place.

ok thanks :) will see what seeds I can get.

Ok so here are my challenges

    1. Lose a stone

    2. Organise & cater for GS's christening on 21st November

    3. Christmas-Too often it becomes a horrid stress that I'm glad when it's all over. This year I will plan ahead so I only end up doing the things I enjoy - cooking, eating & slobbing around with family.

    4. House - get gas fire fitted & then general decluttering ready for 2 & 3

5.Development- I won't have much time for this but I will keep the screen printing and writing ticking over ready for January.

6.Work- I have a big piece of work on up to Christmas, if I make it part of the challenge some of the positivity of this thread might rub off on it.

    Not much then.

So you think it can still be done then with a little amendment to the website, I have a good stock of stuff here that can keep the website ticking over, the only thing that needs to be made to order are the xmas halloween and birthstone earrings, everything else is bespoke so once it made and on the website that's it, just means parcelling them up and sending them in the post :)

I think tomorrow I will concentrate on getting more on the website as its had a good few sales in the last few weeks and there's not that much left on there now :). That way I can still hopefully have sales but it gives my arm some breathing space from making :) and hopefully the pain will subside, I just don't like letting people down :( I have earring orders paid for sat waiting for me to do and I cannot do them :(

    Claire
Here is another who is happy to wait ;)

Its more important that you feel well and pain free than I have a pair of earrings to wear!

I think that by just amending your website as Cheery Daff said, will more than cover you for days when you are just in too much pain.

    Take care of yourself

I had limited time yesterday so managed to read an not post - Fantastic responses from Reading & MK Dons Football Clubs, lets hope this is the start of FC's getting involved :T Well done to Greenbee (?) for kicking this off & DT for managing it.

I am not too far away from MK if any help is needed.

MG - I can't believe that you are thinking of taking on the Schools Challenge! Well I can :rotfl: Do you have 48 hours in each day when the rest of us get 24?

Psycho - Sorry you were having a bad day, hope today has been so much better :)

TMIF - My Mum had several strokes and it was sheer bl**dy mindedness that got her through each time, but they all took something away from her. Can't tell you how many tears I shed wishing for my lovely vibrant, feisty, active, capable, clever, intelligent, determined, loyal Mum back. But I would give anything to have her back now in whatever state I could :( But I don't think you are an awful daughter at all, it is an awful lot to deal with and you have been given lots of excellent advice & ideas already.

OO - My sister calls this Old Timers disease. In many ways it is harder to deal with than other illnesses as it takes the person away from you mentally but still leaves them there physically. A very good friend said she mourned her Mum's passing ten year before she died.

Cricket - Would an assertiveness course help at all?

MG (Again) - :rotfl:at seeing you on You Tube paying off those Muppets at the bank, how can they be so incredibly stupid and difficult to deal with (No answers required!!!!). Think you have already had some great feedback on your website.

TDQ - Love, love, love SUMO :T

Claire - Think it is a great idea to change your website so that people have a clear understanding of how long delivery would be 7-14 days is no issue for most people as long as they know upfront. Sorry you have had a bad day with decorating, money woes for DH (but well done you for being able to sort it) and a mis-behaving arm - rest up until it is better please :)

EH - How wonderful was that trip to London Zoo & a great Christmas present to take your Nan back to somewhere special for you both. I may steal that idea in the future.

"4. Prune 50 books from my ever-expanding collection" I have a real problem parting with books and took on all my Mum's when she died :D

As always, you have all given so much great advice and support to each other. Makes me sad that I can't be here to join in 24/7!

  • You're all right about mother... silly old bag, wish she could fight it a bit more really...

Sadly, she's in a "its too hard, i'll never get better, oh I'll try, eek it didn't work and I had a panic attack" cycle...

Still, I'm taking her in town on Saturday :-| At least when there's nothing to say, I can pick out hideous clothes and she can laugh at me...

Oh evil cigarettes and thick blood... it's just not fair is it :(

As for books - I think I have read every single one of the 4 or 500 books on my shelves - the thought of getting rid of any is horrifying... they are like friends :) I don't have any other clutter or stuff, but books are different...

Infact, I am still waiting for Marru's list :-D
