This resonates so much with me, we lost MIL earlier this year, she had suffered from Alzheimers for around 5 years, and FIL refused to admit anything was wrong, as he didn't want "anyone" to take her away from him. She became quite violent towards him and refused to allow anyone else into the house.
She had a stroke, and died just two days later, which in some ways was a blessing, as FIL had the decision to put her into a care home taken away from him.
That probably sounds harsh, but it really was the best all round
I know how hard it is to try to adjust to the person they have become my thoughts go out to anyone in this situation.:grouphug:
Best wishes to you all

"You kindly sent me your book a few weeks ago. I got it about 4 weeks before sitting an exam that I had done zero studying for. Well I am delighted to say that after mind mapping the ten chapters in the book I passed!!! Yippee!!"
Perfect for your website MG - front page eyecatcher

TMIF- Accept that if you are eating a healthy although low calorie diet feeling hungry for a few hours will not kill you nor will it make you faint no matter what our Mums told us.
Also helps to visualize the person you want to be and the person you don't: slim and attractive ? Or giving in to hunger and stuffing a doughnut in your face as you walk down the street ?
As an incentive I have worn a rather nice dull orange Per Una Jacket for the first time today. I bought it in the sale 3 years ago and have not been able to fit into it until now. It has attracted many compliments at work.
Red Squirrel - I used to be very nervous about speaking in front of a room and avoided it when I could but then accepted that this was something I could overcome. The first few occasions I used to pretend I was someone else, someone good at this sort of thing but after a while it stopped bothering me and all the things I'd feared either didn't happen or didn't bother me. Someone asks a question you can't answer? Say you'll find out and e-mail them. You dry up in front of people? Laugh & say you've lost your place in your notes and carry on anyway.0 -
Re my earlier postings re resilience and self assurance.... I sent a request to the Universe to help me out... and lo and behold, some time magically unfolded for me to do some research on line and bingo, some books have made themselves known to me. And by the magic of the Universe and Amazon, they are now winging their way to me as we speak!
Once i have read them, mind mapped them (but of course
) and inwardly digested them... I will let you know if I think they are worth sending on to the Matrix. Hope that is okay!
And can I say...it is nice to know I am not the only person who has an issue with this."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -

We really need to know details of the Leeds course on the web site ie venue, times, whether food is provided etc. I will be booking DDs in because I know you and believe you are good at your stuff but it needs to look professional to tempt outsiders.
NB that wasn't meant to sound critical, please don't take OO response and never talk to me again.0 -

I used to have a terrible stutter as a child and my Mum and Dad made me do poetry recitiation and public speaking competitions to "help me" get over it.:eek::o It felt like torture at the time, but I tell you, public speaking holds no fears for me at all...and although I am nervous when I sing in public solo (every other Sunday!) I still do it. My secret? Imagine everyone looking at you are giraffes... in their underwear. Seriously... nerves evaporate at that point and you try and stifle giggles instead.
Oh, and I don't have a stutter anymore... unless I have had too little sleep, too much caffiene or waaaaay too much alcofrol!! :rotfl:"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Hi MG,
Sorry I haven't been around but had quite a lot on my plate, hopefully it will slow down from now on.
Right, I emailed your website to parents but the feedback I received wasn't very positive. They would like to receive a leaflet which clearly explains why they over 10yr old kids should attend for the training and what it will involve (such as lunch included or it's packed lunch, whereabout it is (this is a main, they would all love something local (Clapham/Battersea), what time, etc). So I would really appreciate if you could make a leaflet, email it to me so I can forward them once again. They like the idea of sending the children for the training but as there are not enough details on the website and only heard from me about this crazy world tour, they are vary to book it.0 -
I've succumbed to a migraine today and stayed at home. I've started being sick when i have one now, which I never used to be but I'm sure it's been triggered by the stress I've been under at work lately.
I'm much less nervous than I used to be about speaking in public and also am able to let most criticism wash over me. Unfortunately DS has a real problem with taking criticism - he really broods about it and one negative outweighs 10 positives in a conversation. I'm trying to help him over it.
As to the 50 day challenge I'm going to take part but I have really thought about it this time. I have a tendency to either set far too high a bar for myself, or make things so woolly I don't really bother. Someone mentined SMART a while ago so I will follow the principles of: Specific, measurable, achievable relevant, timebound.
1. Lose 1lb every 5 days - 10lbs total
2. Swim twice a week for at least half an hour
3. Use our rowing machine three times a week
4. Prune 50 books from my ever-expanding collection0 -

The Web Angel is just finishing off some behind the scenes stuff for me. That sounds so trivial - what is actaully happening is thatthe whole booking and payment system will be automated so there will be no need for me to look at employing a Admin person.
So its money saving really :rotfl:
When he has finished tweaking we will be ready for a "second pass" at the words - so any suggestions please keep them on coming - I will take them all on board to consider how to make the much needed improvements.
.................. and I promise not to take offence ............ many eyes picking up stuff I've never considered is absoluely priceless.

Good afternoon
Not having a good day, Dh never got paid so his dd's wouldn't get paid I had to run to the bank and put money in from the business account to cover the dd's as His work said they would not be reinbursing for dd;s.
As I left the house it started to pour down so got soaked, and to top it all the wallpaper isn't going on the wall proporly, Dh has got really narked and started having a go at everyone, now he's just left a half papered bubbly wall to tile trim the bathroom
Is the universe trying to tell me something??
