Just had a quick catch up. So much happening on here.
Clare - I would have gone for the teal too.
Mike - have you thought about being an interior designer, you have fantastic ideas, I seem to remember that you liked the idea of sorting peoples clutter etc. Are you our resident house doctor (ding dong and all that!)
DT - did you sort out your train tickets
MG and Claire - not surprised you got the PM just surprised it took so long for us to have the rapped knuckles. Definitely agree to keeping business stuff on the other sites.
Fantasia - I dont think you necessarily need a professional qualification to get a job. Life skills go a long way on a CV but it might be a good way to build your confidence and help you realise the skills that you do have.
OO fantastic news re Milton Keynes. Wish I was closer, I love meetings like that and would be in my element to do something like that
Cheery, who made you so wise? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
And my bit of good news for today is that my line manager has agreed payment of the balance of the course fees for the OU course I have applied for (ie the portion not covered by the ILA £500 grant).
I am particularly pleased about this because my lodger has just announced she is leaving at the end of November. For reasons I can't go into on this forum, I won't be able to replace her in the immediate future, so being able to do this course for free is great news.
Hypno, I am so pleased for you and the youngsters and well done on your great job of manifesting such a good outcome!
GQ xoxIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

MG - that is so amazing, what you did with the boxes for Hypno!

A big success here as well - Young Man (DS1) finally agreed to and had his hair cut. I was at a loss - he needed a job to get a girl and a girl to get his hair cut, and a hair cut to get a job. Talking vicious circles! How did I do it - I explained to him that life (including getting and keeping a job) is a game, just like football. When he plays football with his friends he follows the rules not try to change them. There is a rule in getting jobs saying that hair down to your bottom says - dopey hippy without working ethics. Might be wrong but having made the assumption people don't get to your skills.
Coversation happened last night; today long hair gone; who knows - tomorrow he might have a job.

I have decided on the 50 days challenge. Have to say that at first I thought 'give ourselves a break', what is this with another challenge. Then remembered that there is something I really want to do - I am a long distance runner, right? Not exactly obese thought not a small woman...but if I want to run when I am 80 years old (and outrun blond stick insects) I have to be light. People say - but it is all miscle (no, I don;t look like Arnie yet) but this is not the point. I need to be light.
So I calculated that 50 days is a day over 7 weeks; the healthy weight loss is about 3 pounds or 1.5 kg per week. This is 10.5 kg. So set - my 50 days challenge is to be 10.5 kg lighter. But till Monday I am eating my fill of chocolate...
