Firewalker - hope the haircut works for DS1 and he finds a job he likes soon. On the weight loss I've heard that other than the initial week, a healthy weight loss is more like in the 1 to 2 lbs a week, so 3lbs a week is a lot. It makes sense if you work out that each lb you lose means eating 3500 calories less or burning 3500 calories more, so for 3 lbs that 1500 calories a day less eaten or burned which is a lot, especially if maintained for a few weeks.0

I've been MIA for a while - sorry
Been busy with kids and am up to my eyeballs in trying some crafting for Christmas - decided to have a crack at something I really enjoy.
I appear to have missed loads of news but am going to try getting back into this thread. When I factor in other threads I post on, blogs I like to read, FB etc it's no wonder I end up spending all my time online
Hope you are all doing well and lots of positive vibes to you allI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bitsy, I do so know what you mean. Once I am on Face Book, then wander over to blogs I am lost..that's it I'm a drowning woman with no rescue..lol. That's one of the reasons I stopped writing my own blog, I got caught up in everyone elses blogs.. I really must make a more concerted effort, and actually get my own blog back uptodate.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Hiya,
As part of my 50 day challenge,I am going to post on here everyday, I tend to lurk, don't feel I have anything interesting to say.
Yesterday I had a rejection letter back from a job that I applied for, going to ring on Monday for some feed back.Unable to ring today on a course today and tomorrow.Wouldn't normally dream of doing this because I would be to frightened of what they might say.I am thinking more positively and going to use the feed back to help in my next interview.
Have a good day all.
P.S Thats for the matrix email,all sorted.Pay off £4865.16 in 2011 = £686.21=£4865.16.Next=£2323.05/£393.66.Co-op=£1266.84/£46.28.MasterCard= £275.27/£26.27.Debt to family=£1000/£220.00.Christmas 2011 £65.00/£1000. £2.00 savings £.68.00.NSD's January 16/18.0 -
Good luck with the feedback, amethyst - it is indeed a very positive thing to do!
My 50 day challenge is, unsurprisingly, to move house. There is a lot involved there, including masses of decluttering as I am downsizing, and of course the dark evenings don't help because once I get home from work now I just want to curl up on the sofa with a fleecy blanket!
But, hey, in 50 days time, I will be curled up on the sofa with my fleecy blanket in my lovely new house, and so all will be wellSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks hypno.
I hope you will be very happy in your new home, congratulations and best wishes.Pay off £4865.16 in 2011 = £686.21=£4865.16.Next=£2323.05/£393.66.Co-op=£1266.84/£46.28.MasterCard= £275.27/£26.27.Debt to family=£1000/£220.00.Christmas 2011 £65.00/£1000. £2.00 savings £.68.00.NSD's January 16/18.0 -
Just a quick wee post before the dreaded 8am start.....
I've been thinking hard about the 50 day challenge (& yes, it makes my brain hurt).
I was WAY too ambitious last time with the 100 days so for the 50 days I'm going for 5 things that are do-able & need to be done.
Still working on them but some ideas are
1. Lose 1 stone
2. Make up CV for me & DH
3. Make a start on tracing dad's money - long story & I might need to pull in some Matrix members to pick their brains for this
4. In progress......
5. In progress......
So there we have it

Morning one and all. Feel like an extra in a zombie flick today. My energy levels just can't be sustained at the moment. However, only have three meetings today, which is a drop on all the other days this week!
Matrix, I need some help. I was doing some thinking last night (always dangerous thing to do) and one of the things I was thinking about was how to get more self assurance and resilience. For all of my life, I have been ultra sensitive to criticism and although I thought for a long time that it was due to a lack of confidence, the more I think about it, the more I think it has to do with being assured in my self and becoming more resilient to the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" that hit me from time to time.
Problem is... I have rather drawn a blank about how I develop self assurance and resilience. Anyone got any ideas? Confidence is something i have (I sing solo in front of 500 strangers regularly! If I wasn't confident, you wouldn't catch me doing that!!) and is also something you can fake it until you make it. I am not sure I could do that with self assurance and resilience. Any ideas gratefully received!
Right... Off to make a cup of tea and get to work!

Okay my 50 day challenge ...
1. Sort house
2. Family history
3. Know where to go from January (resetting goals etc)
4. Healthy eating (have piled on steroid weight - but wasn't small to begin with so going to see if can reduce "non-steroid" weight IYSWIM)
5. More productive family time (sitting together in same room but each on laptop/ds/tv is *not* family time :rotfl:)
