MG Do you have any idea about how many children would be available to the school if the right staff were in place ? Love your friends idea, but that is the future and won't solve the current situation. Can the Montessori bods help out in any way:http://www.montessori.org.uk/0

Just in case anyone is thinking that The Secret and the Matrix do not work... I have just had a meeting with my tame Pro Vice Chancellor of the University where I work. He is the senior PVC and when the VC is off, my guy does all the high profile stuff...so he is very high up and a little scary. Gulp.
At the end of our meeting, which was calm and serene even though we had been discussing lots of high level topics and at one point I told him right out that he was wrong (and then persuaded him that I was right!) he says to me "Clare, I have noticed you have an air of calm authority about you at the moment. It has been developing for the last 5 to 6 weeks. It is most impressive. Do keep it up."
At least I am not scary anymore!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -

in this dream there were groups of women all over the country, empowered, passionate, helping each other, go-giving instead of go-getting, and there was a huge building at the end of it with a large letter M. and the word 'Vision'.
I dont usually remember my dreams, just wake up and know I've dreamt something.
Perhaps i just have a vivid imagination lol
I went over to the Orphanage this morning and attended a special meeting. The women of the township of Katlahong now have a co-operative.
It is exactly like the matrix but in physical form.
Women are being encouraged to start their own businesses (hair-dressing, sewing, car mechanics were some mentioned) and the co-operative provides support, they even have plans for some sort of credit union!
My only contribution (apart from Popeye's birthday party to launch the web-site/raise the profile) was to question the decision to have little co-ops and not mix the different groups. I said they would be surprised how thinking laterally and mixing the different skills would help - my example was that that the car mechanics might service the sewing machines.....
And I told them how the different skills in the matrix had launched K4K, shortly after I'd protested that I had nothing to offer the matrix :rotfl:
So now there is a more cumbersome organisation with smaller "chapters" and representatives of each meeting together, and an overall board
Ho hum, and I thought I'd be bored here0 -

Just a thought - when you sorted out the school buildings didn't you say there was a really helpful guy in the LEA??
But then again could be barking in a forest of wrong trees

Why does she insist on having her OH there if its putting people off?
Does the 'board' approve?
Would have thought the best idea would be to have the school up and running ASAP.
Is there anyway to eliminate the 'OH' from the equation?
Seems a bit weird to me.
Silly questions really. Which is why I quoted my own message.
Then I thought, 'its obvious, ask the mentor'.
Then I looked up the meaning of mentor which is
The original Mentor was a character in Homer's Odyssey. Mentor was the teacher of Telemachus, the son of Odysseus. Mentor type figures are common in Greek mythology, and the word Mentor has become synonymous with friend, trusted adviser, guide, counselor, teacher and initiator. Mentoring relationships of this type have been prominent throughout history. Well known examples include Socrates and Plato, and Freud and Jung.
And then it occured to me the mentor might say @What do YOU want to do'
I think if you answer that question MG you have your answer.:o0
