I also favour no 4 but not on your own, how many other people you could rope in to help i.e. other parents. I think a quiet sit down with the HT is in place. She will not have a job if her hubby is putting all the parents off. Is she really the best person to do the job if you end up doing it all for her?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Hi DT - the posts will only show on the Kits for Kids wall if they're posted by someone who is an admin for the page. But admins can change what shows up when people visit the page by going to 'Edit page' - 'Manage permissions' and changing 'Wall Tab Shows' to 'All Posts' (rather than 'Only Posts by page').
Hope that helps!
Edit - ooh MG's book has just arrived on my desk :jDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Oh good grief MG, never a quiet moment!
Can you acquire the school and get rid of the headteacher and her husband?? Does she *want* to close the school? There must be some kind of alternative we can figure out between us - although right now goodness only knows what it is!0 -
I home schooled my DD for about 15 months due to the school she was in giving them tests that they could not complete in the time set "it is to help them with their SATs in 2 years time"!! *never did understand that thought process* Anyways it got so bad she was physically sick at the thought of attending.
Home schooling could be an option short term until you takeover the schoolOkay from somewhere in my brain a bell is ringing - didn't Government say that any group could set up their own school? *off to see if I can find anything* - this was 'free' schools and technically the school already exists - so I think this was me barking up the wrong tree
Hugs to MG and Claire for rapped knuckles.

As Cheery says it's just one thing after another with you.
I like the idea of you acquiring the school although I am in awe of your bravery and ambition. I don't think home schooling is really a starter at the moment with you needing to concentrate on the business, I was reading Ruby Sew Sew's thread & someone (I think it was Cheery again) was telling her that with limited time she had to cut out inessentials no matter how much she liked volunteering. It might actually be the same with running the school, a nice thing to do if it had come at a different time but not right for you at the moment.
What do your mentors think?0 -

I think she wil just get on a plane to India at Xmas and stay there. Plenty of call for Montesori teachers and her husband can continue not really working.
I'm thinking that the only way to do it - to be frank would be to not have their family involved in any way at all rolling forward.
Plan 5. From a friend of mine that has just been let go from the local college ( and it trying to convince me that SHE should take the sales and marketing stuff)
5. Make shed loads of money speaking - buy a steading here. Live in the farmhouse, convert one half the steading into a school and the ther half into a business incubator unit and seminar room.:rotfl::rotfl:
Ssssshhhhh!!! but she's scaring me a little

Does this HT have her own agenda?
Why does she insist on having her OH there if its putting people off?
Does the 'board' approve?
Would have thought the best idea would be to have the school up and running ASAP.
Is there anyway to eliminate the 'OH' from the equation?
Seems a bit weird to me.0 -
Hi MG
How can he close the school ? Is it simply due to the lack of children on the role and therefore money coming in ? Do you need to replace everyone or just the head and her partner ? Can the staff salaries and other expences be covered if you have a full roll ? What will option 4 actually involve ? How much dosh is required to sort it out ? Could sorting this be a challenge for some of us based in Scotland, who may not have any personal challenges to sort in the next 50 days ?0
